$0.15 Ice Cream in Kataragama 🇱🇰

Today me and ‪@betsythomps‬ got a taxi from Ella to Kataragama. We explored the local town of Kataragama as we go on a safari tomorrow in Yala National Park. We get plenty of food and pick up some ice cream from a local seller for just 50rs which works out to be $0.15 - incredible price!

There are many parks in this area... Bundala national park , Ridiyagama national (safari )park, Dry zone botanical gardens in Hambantota , Birds park/ birds research center , Mahapelessa Hot springs , Sithulpawwa Buddhist Monastery, Mulkirigala Rock Temple , Ussangoda National Park , Agro Technology Park , Kataragama , including Yala national park.. population density is low in this area.. You can guess why.. : ) Enjoy your stay in SL

Katharaga is best seen in late July when you have Katharagama Perehera festive season. Look up Katharagama Kavadi dances. Try to visit Sithulpawwa as well.

Hope you enjoyed time in Katharagama. It's a more holy area connected to religion and otherwise, not much other than Yala and Udawalawe national parks for wildlife. 😊

The packeted Ice creams are of same price everywhere.. But it depends on what brand and taste you buy.. It might be a little expensive when you buy it from carts.

All nations has good & bad folks Since I left from srilanka my first foreign land & winter experience was in Moscow .( Soviet Union times ) from there I traveled all Eastern Europe & west This was more than 4 decades ago . Since that I never return to srilanka
