Very helpful video bud, came across this last night in my own car so been good to get a fast diagnosis from your video.

I did the exact same thing but i took out subwoofer and amp since water had gone all the way down to the subwoofer that it was practically floating on 2" of water...yet i managed to fix everything by removing and used heat gun w/ medium heat over the connector harness and open amp. checked wires for damage and retaped together to give extra protection. Everything works perfect.

Thanks to this video i repaired this problem. The speakers would stop working when starting the engine. We opened and cleaned the amp and worked perfectly. Make sure the water flows from the roof thought the pipe

Can't believe you put it all back together before you tested it. As you said if it didn't work you have to replace the amp so you'd have to do the uninstall all over again.

Thanks for doing this, I have mine out right now out of the car and hopefully it fixes my audio static popping sounds! Mine doesn’t seem wet but it was dirty by the connectors so I used a cotton swab with a tad bit of alcohol to clean them out!

In the bit your removed that has the orange hanger. The plastic trim below that, it has. Screw hole but in your video you don’t have a screw in there? Mine does and have a screw and I can’t seem to get it out. Not sure what size it is?

First video that convinced me what I have to do even if I am a bit scared to start it by myself because I am not an electrician. Bought a 2012 Cayenne and is absolutely beautiful. The only problem I have it seems to be exactly your problem. It has a BOSE system and it seems that I got the car with a few cm of water under the subwoofer. Took it off ok, cutted the water drain from the rear left and right. Right rear was blocked and water with dirt came out. But..... I have this sound something like a lost frequency radio signal all the time. The radio works, the aux work, bass, treble, everything, good bass btw but I am afraid not to get some other issue. Please, be kind and feedback me what should I have to do ? 1. Take off the amp from the right like in your video and try to open it and dry it out ? *I mention that it has no water inside the car since more than 10 days. Shouldn't had to be dry by now and stop that signal noise ? I was waiting for days to go by to see if it stops. 2. Should I try to take off the subwoofer or do something else to my subwoofer too, or just only the amp ? 3. The noise (signal freq) transfered to the backseat speakers came from the amp ? I would appreciate a lot if you reply my message asap. Thank you in advance my friend !!! 🙏🏼

Great video, I have the same Cayenne as yours and experienced the same issues. I took my amp out and saw that it did get a bit of water that came in from the top of the main connector. How did you fix the amplifier? The circuit board seems fine, probably something minor that a circuit board repair person might be able to quickly identify and fix. The main connector had a bit of corrosion on it, not sure if that can also be the issue or not. Thanks

Thanks for the video. My Macan S did something similar, (but just the bass speaker was working). I went through an automatic wash since living in Michigan during the winter doesn't allow for hand wash. Pulling out of the wash I turned directly into the gas station and filled up. When starting back up and getting on the road I noticed the issue. So when getting home I looked up the issue and found the possible causes. I didn't see any water on the amp and the drain tube didn't seem clogged. No moisture by the amp or battery so I simply unplugged the amp and plugged back in. Then I read on the Macan forum that someone found that unplugging their phone charger solved the issue. Seemed an odd fix but I gave it a try, and voila, It worked again. I am curious. Have there been any software upgrades or other mitigating actions to deter this issue?

We replaced our amp on our 2017 Porsche Cayenne s hybrid plat, repair shop gave it back to us with sound now but it sounds very muffled now. Like no treble whatsover. Tried to do research on this but noone seems to have this problem.

The main coz is water from rain or washing the car , I noticed the drain hole behind the rear right tire was blocked So its need to open and clean with hand or screw 60 seconds jop , its cost me to change the amplifier in scrab yard from other cayenne, 300$

Hi. I had the same popping and static but it went away. The water done worse damage to hybrid battery. Do you know if the psm control unit is in the same location? I think this took worse damage. Can't find a video relating to it. Thank you. Great videos 👍🏻

I have a 2013 cayenne GTS and had very similar symptoms (picture no sounds with the radio and a strange noise from the speakers even when turned off). The fuse had blown so I replaced a new fuse and it also blew. I investigated further to establish where the short was to find the amp was damaged from water getting in. I fixed the leak and ordered a new amp. The fuse doesn’t blow now so everything is wired up ok, yet i still don’t get any sound. Any suggestions?

I understand there was static. But was the system still working? And did you by any chance read any codes on an obd2 scanner when you had the symptom? Thanks in advance

Hi, my Cayenne Radio a few minutes works well but than pops off, make exactly that sound like yours and works only the back subwoofer(the trunk one) Can you give me an advice?
