01.07.2019 - VN24 - Truck tilts on side - brand new Tow Truck first Day in use

VN24 - Soest / Germany - On Monday morning (1 July) a semi-trailer truck overturned on the A44 motorway. The Czech driver was seriously injured in the accident. He was on his way with the truck towards Dortmund around 6.25 a.m. on the right lane of the A44. Shortly after the Soest junction, he left the lane to the right for unknown reasons. There, the semi-trailer truck got onto the unpaved shoulder and finally tilted onto the right side into an embankment. Witnesses freed the 51-year-old driver from his cab. An ambulance took him to a hospital. The right lane of the A44 had to be closed at the scene of the accident for salvage until the evening hours, as first the entire load of champagne bottles had to be salvaged and reloaded.

not bad for the first mission of the new wrecker. The little skid steer machine thingy was fast and efficient i hope the trucker has a speedy recovery

У нас в РК на трассе перевернулась бочка со спиртом. Так местные с флягами и бидонами все вылакали. Даже тряпками вытерли, и тряпки забрали. Ну молодцы немцы, всяческий помогают. Этот маленький погрузчик понравился. Компактный маневренный и мощный.

Well its not a real forklift, more a small excavator with a fork. You can compare it to a skidd steer. But yes it has its benefits to have such a small helper.

@@donaldpauli129 Semi trucks in Germany can actually be a little bit heavier fully loaded (up to 40 metric tons, or 44t if they are carrying intermodal containers) than the maximum allowed on US interstate highways (up to 36t). Empty weights should be pretty similar.

It always amazes me to see videos of accidents in the rest of the world. Here in the UK the road would have been completely closed for hours if not even days.

I always laugh when on they say on US and Canadian recovery shows "Closure is not an option" If there is a risk to recovery crews from close passing traffic then " Closure is the only option" - of course a good recovery crew with a good plan will always keep that to a minimum. Good video!

Without looking at the post details, I knew that the wrecker was from Doesn't,as I was at Werl for a number of years. The other thing, is to see how the EKA recovery system has go world wide. EKA is the name of the Swedish man who designed the recovery system. The British Army was the first to use it under licence, it was put onto a scammer 6×4 chassis

W szampanie to dużych strat to chyba nie ma. Tyle wódy. A kierowca to raczej z tego wyjdzie. In Champagne it's a big loss probably not. So many chieds.
