If students respected teachers they could become great teachers but the constant discipline issues makes it difficult for many new teachers to evolve into great educators. It's a disease in society that teachers are seen as babysitters while parents work peacefully without the constant disrespect and disruption of their children.
My teachers should be more like this Guy. Sometimes i wish teachers could separate their egos from their ability to teach

Brandon Colley Why??
@rebeccalucas60636 жыл бұрын
Brandon Colley I think that most teachers either don't fully understand it themselves, or they hate their jobs, so they try too many shortcuts, and it hurts the students in the long run. If a teacher hates their job, it's time for another career! Jason has many DVDs that explain things in the simplest terms. He should travel to high schools and community colleges, or do webinars, to teach the teachers how to SIMPLIFY and dummy it down so students don't get lost or discouraged. The problem with schools and colleges is, they are forced to cover so many chapters in so little time that's it is pretty much "ready or not, we're moving on, if you didn't get it, too bad, you'll have to retake the course". Once you lose that one part, you're lost, and it's game over. Jason's courses should be a continuing education requirement for all instructors in order to keep their teaching certifications.

I've watched probably a dozen basic chemistry videos these last two weeks, and read about just as many written explanations. I could not find anyone who would clearly and precisely define elements and molecules. This one came the closest and I was able to pick out the last few pieces of the puzzle I was missing by some of the things stated in this video. Thank you! From my assessment, I see about three different uses of the term 'element'. In one sense, it merely refers to "a type of atom". This is an individualistic definition. In another definition, the term is used in collective sense, and refers to an unspecified collection of atoms all of the same kind (e.g. describing a jar filled with nitrogen gas). In another sense, the term 'element' refers to the groups that these kinds of atoms naturally form (e.g. nitrogen atoms tend to naturally pair up, forming a molecule, and constituting what we call a 'diatomic element'). In summary, the term 'element' can refer to an individual atom, a general collection of similar atoms, or the specific molecules those atoms are likely to live within. Took me two solid weeks to hammer that out. And please anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I did Chemistry in my school and I was a below average student in it, the lectures were too fast paced and the teacher wasn't as enthusiastic. I have now decided to pursue chemistry and physics on the side along with other subjects and I am doing Linguistics in University. I really wish I had come across your material in school! You've made me fall in love with Chemistry all over again, and only in 1 video! Can't wait to learn more

You are really the most remarkable teacher I have seen on KZfaq. I was interested in science in my college, but never succeeded, and finally ended up as a commerce/management graduate in university. Yet, my desire to learn science, mathematics, physics, chemistry etc. never faded away, and now I started to learn what I couldn't learn in my college years. I think, no one is ever late to learn anything, learning and gaining a new knowledge is an inspiration. Wish you good health and luck..

Thank you so much! In school I wasn't really interested in chemistry but now I'm in my twenties and have recently started to become really interested in it and realised that with ADHD, the way i learned in school just didn't work for me. But you teach it so well and I can just watch another lesson now and them wherever I want when I feel up for it. I've been watching a lot of chemistry channels and what they do seems so cool and fascinating to me but getting into the chemistry community and really understand what's going on feels like climbing a mountain where everyone but you has climbing gear or something lol. But you explain everything so well and take it from the very basics and up!

There are no bad students , just bad teachers. They don't know how to teach that is what cause kids don't want to learn. I wish every teacher a good as this one.

This for the hard work/fun u have been through. Chemistry is my last subject in Science-Math line. I've already know most of these information and I thought it was boring (in the beginning) but I couldn't stop listening (it's very hard to keep attention especially something not entertaining but it could be entertained) all of the details was really good and better that u have point out, flawless! . Anyone who understand English could be an expert in Chemistry after watching this crystal clear lesson and anyone who couldn't ........ . Anyone who dare to explain cover small details like this I called a Professor not just a person who teach. This might mean nothing but just want to bow and give encourage u to keep up a good work. Giving feel much better than taking, isn't it? me too - Thursday Guy, respect.
