In this lesson, you will learn what a rational exponent is and how to simplify expressions with rational exponents. A rational exponent is just an exponent that can be written as a fraction. First, we describe how rational exponents can be written in terms of a radical expression. Next, we solve many problems where we must simplify the expression and write the answer either in rational exponent form (fractional exponents) or as a radical expression.

Congratulations, this is probably the most comprehensive (yet understandable) video on fractional exponents I have seen. In particular, it's nice to see that you didn't skip over (as is often the case) the fact that the "root then power" approach yields the same result as "power then root", and what's more you actually explained why this is the case due to the commutativity of multiplication. Nice one!

Well, to make it even simpler, a^(-b/c) = a^-b * a^1/c = (1/a^b)^(1/c) so you get 1/(cth root( a^b)) or 1/a^(b/c) And a^b * a^c = a^b+c

Positive Exponents begin with (1) line multiplying itself into different shapes with equal sides. A Negative Exponent is the same thing, except that (1) line, instead of multiplying itself, it starts "imploding" in on itself and that's why you write "1 Line Divided by X^5" ...or.... 1/x^5 Positive exponents is growth. Negative exponents are shrinkage. Visit my channel for a geometrical visual, lol.
