@@pmc1727 It was called degaussing, which used electrical coils to cancel out the magnetic field of the ship and it was fairly successful.

Interesting, there are quite a few parallels between the Finnish invasion then and the Ukrainian invasion now. Both had leaders who’s intelligence had told them what they wanted to hear and underestimated the local resistance.

This series is awesome. It's funny I had a book since I was a kid called 2194 days of war and it reads almost exactly how you guys do the series covering major events on each day of the war and going into bigger details on the side of bigger events and people and units and such.

Its a bit funny how many parallels on the Russian side between the lead up the war with Finland and the current war with Ukraine and both times was to tell what the want to hear no matter how false it is

It's human nature, if they feel there's an end goal in mind, then perhaps the ends justify the means, or perhaps its a matter of pure pessimism to simply pretend to agree when in reality, they know dissidents are the first to go, so agreeing is the only option available. In those sorts of circumstances it seems to be one or the other.

Finland was very poor. Finland was deeply divided after the brutal civil war in 1918. Finnish army had hardly any modern equipment. But at the moment of Soviet attack, all of that was forgotten and turned into iron determination to survive. My grandmother’s first husband did not survive. But my grandfather did.

No, Indy is right since he's talking about the Nobel 'Peace' Prize. As stipulated in the will of the Swedish-born inventor and international industrialist Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine and Literature are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden, while the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo, Norway.
