@@rumanarupa1510 I posted that 4 months ago thinking I could recreate that, unfortunately I have not figured out how to yet. If I could though I would have used Blender and used a particle simulation. Then used a block over the block to hide it and when it touches it particles fly of it... unfortunately I am not that experienced to do that XD

This is amazing. It's SO much more straightforward and reusable than other similar effects I've seen online. Unfortunately, in Blender 2.8, it seems that the "Use Modifier Stack" option in the particle emitter doesn't seem to be working. It still emits from the origin.

What I ended up doing was moving the origin point way off screen so that you don't see the particles. A bit annoying, but it looks good.

If anyone else in blender 2.8 has an issuee with the T dispearing after applying the mask try intersecting the carver object with the T then toggling on and off the masks viewport visability until you can see it again and also try pressing play to kick start the baking.

A problem for my project is that every 5 frames of rendering, the mesh deforms a lot (looks like the vertices are all messed up) and then goes back to the normal mesh. Is this a problem with the dynamic paint and is there a fix?

100 things in 10 minutes.. 1)so it was cube with lots subsurface, displace modifier cloud, texture co ordinate global..used in Boolean modifier's difference blend cube.. 2) dinamic paint brush's cube with mesh volume paint particle surface weight..so paint's output is group for mask modifier... 3)particles use this mask with particles shape hid in layer 2..cache- bake..!!??; 4) particle -object-dupli-texture to size( not time) co ordinate particle.. 5) COLOUR= input as progressive age life math for verenoi texture to colour amp **glow with hue saturation diffuse values...wahla... 6) motion blur (no deformation) with position as end of frame- shutter curve..
