In this video, I will pick open a gigantic solid steel beast that is called an American Lock Series 747. Has heavy, heavy tension, the exact opposite of your 1100 series! And with an interesting design on how it's all put together. And Happy Memorial Day to you all!

Great controlled open man! That lock is huge! It must weigh a ton 😅 747 is a good number for it since it's like a plane 😅 really cool keybeard 🎉

Thank you! Being solid steel and large makes this lock a beast! And that shackle spring is certainly strong and adds so much pressure to the back of that core!

Well done my friend ,very nice lock I have a few in my collection The drill protection in the keyway was a nice touch I couldn't get a great view of date code on back of yours ,I believe its RGG so production was Sept of 1988 The lock was replaced with the 748 model which I have featured If I remember correctly the 2 nub pins{Limiter/Retainer) on core end pull straight out to do the gut but takes a bit of work lol! Excellent work Stay well

Hey, thanks! I forgot I can look up the date code! I know of the 748s I didn't think about that being the replacement! I haven't tried pulling the nubs because I'm sure I'd destroy them in the process, and I don't have any extras, haha!

Is all the pressure because of how old it is, or because of how much tension you have to put on it? This is a great lock man you can see why it's called a 747 freaking massive. Great pop, too! Bummer no pin show, but still great pick and disassembly!🤙🤙
