All great points thanks - actually I do use the tweezers when removing the driver pins and should have mentioned that I wasn’t doing so while filming because it allowed for a better filming position as the pins emerged. Thanks for taking the time to leave this set of tips - very helpful 🙌

Hi Andrew - thanks for asking mate. So the duration and frequency of my current picking sessions is really dictated by time available. I cycle 10 miles to and from work each day and will often have marking and planning to get done, plus I have a family so there are some weeks when most of my picking is compressed into the weekend. Nonetheless, I will have my Sparrows Revolver, or a lock project I am working on, plus a few picks and a tensioner with me at work and I will try to get 15-30 min. practice in at lunch or before my day begins if I make good time on the bike. When I pick on the weekend I tend to get a few sessions in, each lasting about an hour. Most of the time at the moment it is pin tumbler focused and SPP - I do have the tools for dimple picking and Disc detainer locks along with bypass tools but I haven’t really branched out to use those at the moment (once my long summer vacation arrives, I hope to deep dive into those). I will usually start with some kind of training locks or easy opens to warm up and get a feel for the tools. Then I move on to whatever the current project lock is - whether that’s a CL or a particular model,of lock I’m trying to defeat. I rarely do anything else like watch TV or listen to music at the same time - I like the focus and quiet of just picking. If I experience hand fatigue or if I notice I am becoming frustrated, I try to wrap things up before it becomes unproductive but I don’t always get that right! Finally, whatever I am filming at the time will also impact my picking sessions in any given week - it might be that I have to dial in my skill in a particular aspect of picking - raking or tensioning for example, so that too can determine how I spend the time. Of course, once I approach the Lock Picking Lawyer’s subscription count (!!!) and am a full time KZfaqr, I’ll have a little more time to dedicate to locksport and my answer will be very different! How about you Andrew?

@@fishpicks4531 Fish, thank you for taking the time to reply. It’s nice to hear how others practice. As for myself, I usually end up practicing for only 10-15 minutes at a time when I get to sneak away to my office. That’s usually the time when I relax for a bit and watch some videos on KZfaq, and I like to practice picking at the same time. Since I work and study during the week, I’m usually finding spare time only at night after the kids are in bed, or on the weekend in between spending time with my family. When extra time is found, I’ll typically practice SSP and raking pin tumblers, as well as jiggling my way into wafer locks. I actually just purchased some fun toys which are on the way: the Gridlock set from Sparrows, and the Sparrows disc pick, AKA the pick that LPL & BB made 😃. I’ve never attempted to pick disc detainers before, so I am looking forward to it. I’m also very much looking forward to future videos from you about them. I wish you and your channel the best and will continue to watch it grow. Take care!

Well I think they’ll hold their value so it will just be a case of finding a buyer on one of the forums and accept you might lose a little in the exchange - for what it’s worth, I’ve also made several purchases that are not out of their packages!

Thanks for the feedback - I’ll need to go back and look at how I hold my tweezers now - I am always open to refining my technique. Hopefully I am more likely to lose a spool than a patient but nonetheless, it is good to pay attention to detail!
