Very nice! Not too many Middle Schools in our area that have that level of performance at that age..... Looks like everyone who wants to play and can cut it is included, too.....:-)

Dale Andrews Well, it was horribal and even our middle school band has a sound that is so much better than the sound of this band.

They are slowing down a bit and the trumpets are not articulating very cleanly at some points but yes

Damn, that's a good sound, and this coming from a trombone player who has played high school, college, and now plays in the Lake Charles Community Band (we're here on KZfaq!). Great promising musicians to be so YOUNG!

Yeah, a jazz band isn't supposed to be that big but whatever this was great. I'm in high school and my school's band can't play like this lol At least, not the Gr 10 band

I agree. Most jazz bands I've seen are more like an ensemble of - I don't know - just a few pieces. This is more like Big Band playing a jazz favorite. Nothing wrong with that, in order to get that kind of sound. They're even a wee bit larger than the old Tonight Show Band with Doc Severinsen and Johnny Carson as host, which was the best representation of modern day Big Band.

That jazz band has terrible tuning issues and the cord progressions aren't even there, not to mention how bad the sound quality as a band, that is almost worse than the tuning.I have played this peice before as a trombone player in a small jazz band and what i just heard was complete trash compared to what my group and i have preformed.Whoever left a like on this video needs to seriously develop their taste in music and their hearing.I'm not trying to be cruel, but that song seemed too advanced for such a inexperienced group to be playing.

Chase Troell First of all, this piece is from a book called EASY jazz favorites. It is a very easy middle school level piece, probably a grade 1.5. I had played this from 6th to 8th grade. As for tonal quality, they are excellent for a middle school, which I also know from experience.

Chase Troell You also say that you are not trying to be cruel, but you are quite obviously a hypocrite. It seems that you are not a true band member, as you don't seem to understand the ideas of teamwork and helpful CONDUCTIVE criticism (both concepts that only true and dedicated band members can understand.)
