I am so grateful that this video was posted. I lost my parents and my daughter and her fiance in this slide and they have done such a great job of clearing the landscape it is hard to tell how truly devestating it was by looking at the land today.

Thank you to my nephews Chris and Kody who risked their lives to run into that mudslide and save the life of that 6 month old baby. You two are real heros. Kody lost his Aunt in that mudslide and his Uncle is in critical conidition.

Oso, WA is beautiful area. Have drove through several times for different activities in that area. Reminds me a lot of were I was born in VA, told family from back east when they called to see how far the slide was from were I live. In fact they were getting better news coverage then we were in the Seattle area. I thought it was just a typical rainy landslide that we have from time to time from our local news.

It seems so strange to be looking down from a helicopter onto a horrific tragedy just a few days after seeing a horrific tragedy involving a helicopter. I agree; thanks to the KCSO for making this available.

I also feel sorry for the animals that died. The rescuers heard a dog crying the night it happened, but the ground was unstable so they decided to leave him :(

All preventable. This is what happens when you ignore these 'extremist hippies' and their 'wacko' warnings of environmental risks.. The county planning commission need to be held to strict accountability. "We didn't know" - they only needed to do their duty, their homework.
