I was always told the definition of maturity was being able to listen to this without thinking of The Lone Ranger

or being less than mature, since only extremely "mature" people even remember the lone ranger

@@MarionConcertBand The Lone Ranger was an extremely popular serial story from the early days of radio, which has since been made into cartoons and several movies, including a fairly recent one that took a lot of heat for having Johnny Depp playing the (stereotypical) Native American character.

It’s a sad thing that this masterpiece was tainted by the lone ranger show and the fact that so many people when they hear this masterpiece they only think of the Lone Ranger and yes I’m one of those and I hate the fact that I think of the Lone Ranger when I hear this this masterpiece was put together in the 1820s imagine that
@alansloan7784 Жыл бұрын
'Tainted' by the Lone Ranger (and Warner Brothers cartoons, etc.)? Nonsense! Thanks to both franchises, at a young age I was drawn to listening to the William Tell Overture in it's entirety; along with many other famous orchestral classics---things that are nowadays too often ignored by many---but not forgotten by all.
@deniser7573 Жыл бұрын
Better to be exposed to classical music (regardless of where) than not. Yes to me it will always be The Lone Ranger’s theme first, but when I grew older I wanted to learn more about this and other classical pieces.
@meredithhedghes9222 Жыл бұрын
I was a Lone Ranger Era kid, and grew up with this music...have always associated it with the opera, not a tv theme song

Tainted! Programs that used classical music, including Looney Tunes cartoons, turned a lot of kids on to classical music. Tainted? I think not.
