Just had to say that I absolutely love your work!!!! And... these clips really take the fear and intimidation out of painting, and it makes it not so serious and fun!!!! Because, there's always another layer, until you feel like you've arrived, and how fun is that?!!! Takes so much pressure off of the process, and having to get things "right". Thank you so much for all your generosity and wisdom.

I also love the drips and dripping of the thinner paint, it gives the painting a kind of spray paint from a can look to it. Cool.

The brown roles of paper you use for monoprinting is for professional house painters to mask around windows, hardware, trim, etc... You do beautiful, moving work. I could stare at it for hours.

the best suggestion to me is the idea of taking photos of parts of the work. doing so can reveal an entire new painting out of a small section.

By the time the painting is finished, it's helpful to look back through all the stages and prove to myself that in spite of things looking really horrible and messy, I was able to pull things together in the end - Pam

You like the Airbrush Medium, I am using Matt Medium to thin out my acrylic to get drips, but I think the Airbrush Medium holds more color, especially when sanding down afterwards. Great lecture, thanks for the part about being stuck, I take photos of my work in progress also.....Mahalo Pamela.

The paper is used by painters in the trades. It is used to protect areas you don't what paint to get on while you are using a spray gun. That's what I used it for anyway when I used a spray gun. Plastic will do the same job.

I love Pamela. I'm not a two panel, three panel, etc painter though. For me it has to be on one piece of canvas or wood. I do paint 2 or more piece sets but that's a different thing

The way you explain your process is so very helpful and answered many questions I have been asking myself. May I ask how you mount your panels/canvases on the wall while you are working on them? Any tips? I will be moving into a very small house and a wall mounted system would be preferable to using an easel. Again, thank you for generously sharing your knowledge with us here on KZfaq.

Hi Joanne! Thanks for your comment and watching the videos ;) I have wooden cradled panels that are kind of heavy; sometimes I work on Arches Oil paper. For the wooden panels, I have plywood walls (3/4in thick) in which I can have screws heavy enough to really hold the work. If you only had drywall, I would not recommend hanging heavy panels. However, if you don't have a plywood wall, you can nail or screw horizontal strips of wood in which you can screw into to hold wooden panels. I hope this helps and best wishes in your new studio :) Pam

I like your way of creating, l do not know, if it is spontaneous or conditioned. its masking paper, fits on a gun that has a serrated blade and a roll of tape...as you pull the paper off it applies tape to the edge..

What a great video! I wish I had seen this before I threw away so many ugly paintings ... they could have been underlayers to something wonderful. How would you suggest getting the drippies for someone without the vertical wall for holding boards or papers? I have to work on a large flat table for now ... just keep picking them up after you slosh on the paint? I'm really enjoying your KZfaq videos!

Colleen - though yes, lifting the boards off the floor at an angle works - I think perhaps trying the drips on paper on the floor and moving the paper around - after all, the paper can always be mounted on panel once you've decided which are your masterpieces. I often love to work on paper - can't do as much distressing - but light and manageable!! Great question :)

Do I have to use a clear gesso before I switch over to oil and c/w?

Hi Jeanne - I have done it both ways. Without clear gesso, if you kind of rough up your acrylic painting first with sand paper or something coarse, it should be ok. It is the smooth, shiny surface of some acrylics that then have difficulty adhering to the cold wax/oil. Since I had tried this process with both the smoother surface and the clear gesso, I prefer not having to worry about and that's why I now use, but it "can" work, and if you already did paint over an acrylic without the clear gesso, don't worry about it. If you get a bit of peeling or chipping in various places, it is due to the lack of adhesion. It may be helpful, if you proceed without the clear gesso, to put several final coats of cwm on the surface when you are finished, letting each layer dry completely first. Best, Pam
