I just used the ground wire on the harness that came with the head unit, to ground the BRAKE wire. This video did help me tho. Thanks

You can connect the park break cable to the stereos ground cable.

Does the car have a factory subwoofer in the rear cargo area? The small square connector is to wire that up if you wanted sub sound.

It amazes me that the brackets are all plastic....I wasn’t comfortable not replacing that nub in back for stabilizing the back side, but even with it on it doesn’t reach the hole.

couldnt you just ground the parking brake wire to the same ground that goes to the stereo? aka the black wire?

Ok the only question I have is, most newer cars/trucks have to be hooked up to install new equipment, it basically allows the vehicle to accept new device from the computer. Do you have to do that with this or you just unplugged and installed? My charger I had I could not just swap out I had to hook it up so I never did it. The stereo in it was great though, but I just got a 2007 f 150 and stereo sucks.

Great video. You should keep doing these kind of videos. You were very clear and showed better detail than most videos of this type I've seen. Did you ever figure out what the other plug was for at 2:07 that went into the old radio ? I guess it's not needed ? also what is holding that plastic piece for the air bag light at 10:35...mine fell and i have to fish it out in bowls of the dash.

On the back of the stock radio. There's the wide plug, that smaller one in the middle, then the antenna. I don't know what it is. I have mine taken apart and the new harness doesn't connect to it.

What did that middle clip between the speakers clip and antenna end up being for? Did you connect it or left it disconnected? Awesome video man. Going to be installing mine this week.

nice clear video Beto I'm about to make my purchase of a Kenwood DDX574bh head unit from CRUTCHFIELD along with four Kenwood speakers the 2 way 6865s for my 07 ford f 150 supercrew along with the install kit and pre wired plug and play harness dash trim removal tool all for $431 right now our stock factory speakers in rear doors have not worked for a few years now just the fronts so i believe the rear channel for rear speakers in radio have gone out YOUR VIDEO IS VERY CLEAR AND HELPFUL my only question is has to do with the wire for the parking brake bypass for video playing DID YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE THIS WIRE SEPARATELY (the one you grounded to the screw under the plastic trim piece over pedal s) THANKS AGAIN DAN FROM CHICAGO

How you removed the rear tabs from the stereo installation kit. Mine doesn't fit at all with those tabs and the Metra manual seems confusing. Thanks

Im going through my wiring and checking everything out because every time I come to a stop my radio, A/c, and cluster lights shut off. I doesn't do it on high rpms. I already checked the truck's battery, alternator, and everything else I can think of, which makes me think its a short somewhere but I just don't know where to start. I recently replaced the stock head unit back on and I haven't really driven the truck enough to notice if it shuts off or not but it hasn't yet. HELP!!!!!!

Just curious, is your 12v outlet powered after the truck is turned off? Both my cigarette lighter and 12v outlet stay on after I take the keys out which would drain the battery if I left a charger in there. Did you do something to fix that?

I bought the kenwood, and I'm almost positive I have all the wires crimped together right; the stereo will power up, recognize the radio station, but no sound. Any ideal what the problem could be?

So you tricked the DVD part of the stereo by just grounding it to that bolt instead of plugging it into the parking brake wire?

Find me someone who knows how to install a - kit without cutting their ring home larger to fit over the radio to wait is not design good for you
