05 - Hammond SK Pro - Monosynth

Hammond-Suzuki's latest evolution of the SK line-up is an inspirational modern update to the concept of the all-in-one 'bread and butter' keyboard. It features killer organs (of course) using the acclaimed MTW1 engine found in the top of the line Hammond XK5, plus newly sampled acoustic pianos, electric pianos, clavs, strings, polysynths and more. It also incorporates a virtual analog monosynth with dedicated controls for sound shaping.
In this video, I explore the new monosynth section and offer ideas on how to integrate it into your sound.

Don't know what to love more - the great demo, excellent playing or how much you're enjoying the instrument! A truly fantastic demo of the Hammond SK Pro from the musician's perspective. An impressive instrument especially considering the price tag.

I love organ layered with fender... Russell Ferrante on Robin Fords Album Talk To Your Daughter plays this sound. The song is Revelation and that is THE tone. So sweet... I have chased that sound for many years in my own playing.

Thanks for another great and informative video. Have been considering buying a Yamaha YC61 but this new Hammond seams like an even greater option. And, of course, it's a Hammond!

The YC 61 nailed everything EXCEPT the organ… not very convincing

@@steveraschella8233 Agreed. That's the main reason I didn't by it. Plus it doesn't actually have a YC sound, while the Reface YC does.

You convinced me to get the SKPro and it is magnificent. I have referred to your videos over and over… which has helped but would you consider a programming video? Really hard to grasp the patches vs combinations and bundles and how they are built. Out of the box this thing is ok but with tweaking becomes real sweet

Yes, I need to make a video detailing programming the SK Pro. I will do that once my tour schedule calms down a bit. Probably later in Oct / early Nov.

i dont know if im missing something here. you cant modulate the PWM , FM Osc or oscilator aspects with an envelope ... if so thats super lame. need it in a software update, so you can get real 2 op fm sounds, osc that evolves over time . thanks for the vid.

Hello Jim thanks for your amazing review! I have a question with my old SK1 I want to hook up a Doepfer D3M Midi Keyboard and have the problem that the Velocity is much too high. I found out that controls>velocity offset does only change the velocity of the sk1 keyboard, but not at all the velocity behaviour of the second manual. Do you know how I can change the velocity of my second manual? By reading the manual I could imagine that it has got to do something with the external zone configuration but it does not change anything by what i tried there so far?
