Chris Blake money my friend money let’s put crappy parts on here and then make another servo to accommodate the stock one but better it in performance!! They know what’s going on😂

Mine broke within 20 minutes of first use, they sent me a replacement for free but I choose this instead. They are fully aware of this servo’s issues.

Same thing just happened to me! But was 5min! I was so mad! My issue is that my wife was already mad I spend $1300. Now I have to spend another $100? Waiting fir my replacement from traxxas. Lol

Thanks for the step by step breakdown I myself just replaced the plastic gear kit from traxxas for free " I'm certain to replace with metal sooner than later " but I cut my teeth with some hands on maintenance never hurts to get schooled.

Thanks I’ve just used this to do my upgrade. Thin LLP my wheels are pointed slightly right though so will fix that later.

Use the steering trim knob to make slight adjustments ;o)

for $1000 Traxxas shouldve included the stronger steering servo with the truck from the factory. Looks like they figured out "DLC" for RC's. And im not a Anti Traxxas guy either, ive been running their RC as long as theyve been making them, i just am honest enough to point to wrong when i see it.

Do you need to upgrade to the aluminium toe links after doing this or will the plastic ones be fine?

I always use the plastic, which are fine. Not a huge fan of metal parts, not only do they add weight, but they transfer any breakages elsewhere in the truck instead. I would rather a cheap part failed then a more expensive one further along!

Hey man I just installed this in my x Maxx and the servo goes too far each way the wheels turn all the way and the servo goes farther twisting the servo saver each time is this normal? Is there a way to set the end points?

@@EclipseGSX23 you can set the end points with the tqi radio using menu and set buttons you can download the menu tree from Traxxas website

Honestly this is beyond me, an $800+ car and they can’t even put a dang metal geared servo in it? that is ridiculous. traxxas cheaps out the stupidest thing

Agreed. With the power of these machines, and the cost, metal gear servos should be standard.

Servo is really not that easy to change in my opinion. It’s a pain in the ass. Easy to over tighten on the spring screw because there is no extra resistance to let you know when to stop.

Put a nut on the spring screw. This will help with resistance and also stop it pulling through after a hard bash

@@bengrove51 I see the Kevin Talbot mod where he adds a 16mm screw and m6 nylon but went and picked up them and they look alot thicker than the original screw that came out? I cannot get the original screw back in with the upgraded servo spring as its so firm and it keeps popping out?

This is all BS money making scheme my traxxas Bought a brand new xmaxx & the servo crapped out after a several runs For $900 plus what another what $600 in batteries & a charger this truck should have metal gears in the servo Not a happy Traxxas guy who has 7 traxxas trucks

I agree. For some reason Traxxas always put rubbish servo's in with their trucks and have the better servo as an optional 'upgrade'. Especially with the XMaxx, which is already a beast, a metal geared servo should have been box stock.
