I wonder How come Pau Gasol acquired American Accent despite the fact that he is spanish? While Manu Ginobili is Argentinian and everytime he speaks English, Manu's Argentinian accent is still there haha

Yes, Pau Gasol is from Spain but he is Catalan. In Catalonia (Spain) there are two languages (Spain and Catalan) and so he can speak English very well.

GenociderF10 Not really man, catalans might have a small advantage when learning a third language but the fact here is this guy has a natural talent for languages. Or maybe he has worked very hard on his english... but speaking catalan isnt a great help when learning english.

David Barriada The best way you can learn some language is moving to a country where you'll need to use it every day, there's no secret. I've never been to USA but since I watch a lot of series in original version I've just realized that my english accent has improved just by listening american english frequently, so imagine what would moving to a country mean, and more if you've been living there for a long while. Pau is like he even grew up in USA.

yeah and in many latin countries also. But being able to speak a language without an accent when it is not your native language it's still remarkable.

@rebornatm23 People occasionally make the mistake of calling him Paul instead of Pau. Ive heard it many times from others like my mom for example. lol I never had trouble saying his name or other spanish names regardless of what part of Spain they come from, maybe its because of my spanish roots that I know how to say them like you would of people from your own ethnicity. lol not sure if that made sense.

people from Cataluna no gustas estar llamas Espanol. (muy bien spanish) I don't know if what I said makes sense in Spanish, since my spanish is very amateur so I'll say it in English, people from Catalonia don't like to be called Spanish, if you're spanish you should know from the news and mierda.
