Me racing my buddies Corvette. We raced before with him on bald 295's and me on grippy-ish 245's and it was about even, so we wanted to try again when we both had grippier tires on. The slo-mo stare down cracks me up every time.

Dutil35, REALLY? 100 hp difference, it wasn't fair? It sure was fair. Corvette: 3300lbs, GTO: 3750lbs. Aerodynamics: VETTE by far. It takes about 12-14hp to offset every 100lbs of weight. That means the GTO needed another 55-57hp to equal the vette. GTO had another extra 50hp on top of the 55 hp needed to equal vette which means he should now pull ahead of the vette with the extra 50hp, and he does, perfectly. Plus the LS2 in the vette has better cooling under the hood vs the GTO'S. The old goats heat soak worse.

Clutch at the time was I think a Monster level 4 single, but I ended up using their level 3. It also had a Tick master cylinder. The shifter was Billet Pro, but good luck finding one. They were hard to find and expensive.

😂 rolls are fun too! But since you mentioned it my best 60ft in this car was 1.57. I was proud of that number since it was a roots blower/stick/drag radial/IRS combo.

@@madskater5 solid. I hate the whole start from a dig bs people scream. It's hard to do digs on the street many times. Getting in some rolls is much easier to do not everyone has super secluded places where there isn't cops or anyone around for miles and miles.

Did you not notice the mods? Gto is supercharged and is making like over 100 rwhp more. Trust me that is more than enough to offset the 500ish lbs difference lol.

aaaand 7 years later... frozen boost type 101, IAT were nice and low, i think 130s?. I also cut about 6 inches out of the weather stripping in the center rear of the engine compartment so heat could escape after coming in the hood scoops. after cruising on the highway I could rest my hand on the blower and it wouldnt be hot.

I also changed to a faster reading IAT sensor so I'd get my timing back faster after staging at the track. like instead of tricking my IAT sensor like some people do, I put an actual fast reading sensor in so when i hit the gas and pulled cooler air, it sensed it immediately. theres another video on my channel about it.

it was a fun race between friends, not meant to be a fair race. Honestly I would have expected him to keep up better given the weight difference. I have a c6 z06 now and my lightness lets me keep up with a lot more power than I make.

With a hydraulic lifter it’s just gonna mess with the preload of the lifter. Basically nothing good would come of it without having different rockers/lifters/cam combo. LS7 and LS2 lifters are the same dimensions so on his car it does absolutely nothing.

Brad Noyes yeah I had a comp can kit on my 318 and they gave me the wrong push rods that were not even a inch longer and they made a racket till I got the new ones in doesn’t really have nothing to do with it but I agree does absolutely nothing

9 year old video man haha. The GTO is long gone and this vette has about 100 more whp. The GTO ended up running a best of 10.8 @ 132 but with a crap 1.8 60ft, so it had more in it. I think the vette has only been a best of a low 11, but he doesnt really hit the track much.

And? Who cares stop the pouting. It's a gd vette it weighs 500 lbs less and has better aero. Of course ls3 w same mods would be closer not sure what that has to do with anything. They prob just wanted to do some runs to see what would happen between them knowing the power difference but also the weight and aero difference. People run just for fun sometimes I mean I know that is a hard concept to grasp.
