I thought that too but the venting I bought is rated for exactly what I used it for. It calls for a 2” clearance to combustibles and the wall ring I bought had the 2” built into the design.

I twisted aluminum foil to support the angle, then used high temp sealer over that, it worked great. Lowe's sells 2 or 3 different kinds, and the 600°F silicone flexes to hold tight seal. Lowe's also sells a 'Crimper Tool' that easily reduces diameter, then seal. Some products valve ratings of 3000°, at Lowe's. Good luck, brother, I know it can be frustrating

You can use the romex connectors that you put in your panel box as well.

Mine has held up pretty good but I don’t get near the snow you do. I also built a cabin back in the woods with a small wood stove and I designed that bracing slightly different. I think it looks better. Check out my cabin videos to see that one. Good luck.

No, but I will say it’s only a foot or so below the roof overhand so that thimble doesn’t really see water.

Radiant system is still here and works great. This wood stove stack installation is for my maple syrup evaporator. I connect everything in the spring and make maple syrup inside my barn. Very efficient and convenient. It’s a wood fired evaporator I built many years ago. I connect a steam evacuator hood also, so there is no steam inside the building. The bottom of the L shape has a clean out so the vertical section is cleaned from there. For the horizontal section, my stove is only used a few weeks a year and removed every year (making maple syrup), therefore I clean the horizontal section from the inside and ash is pushed to the clean out on the L. Hopefully that makes sense. As a side note, the stainless chimney does not build up much or anything to clean.

It’s holding up quite well. I did another stack like this on my off grid cabin and worked the supports a little different. Looks better but same strength and all.
