Күн бұрынIn today’s video I’m gonna be converting my 07 Nissan Altimas factory dim and worn out H.I.D headlights and housings and converting them to brand new halogen housings and bulbs with a hid ballast to H11 bulb harness!!!

Thanks for the video! Just did this conversion today since my passenger headlight assembly was letting liquid in. Got tired of dropping $100 per bulb every 4-6 months. Got both headlights replaced with halogens now works great. Thanks!

I have a 16 maxima SR and I need to replace my headlight housing but I don’t feel like paying $4000 for new housings. They are H ID and they are sealed units. You can’t get to the ballast and you can’t get to the bulb. I have two connectors a regular I would say eight pin connector and a smaller connector, which I think would go to the H ID like how yours is but the connectors different.

They might make an adapter for the plug but I’m also not 100% sure if they even make the newer maximas without hids…

Thanks for subscribing!! In my opinion leds are the way to go! They’re generally brighter with a cleaner look, easier to install and cheaper!!

Got a 2008 Maxima. Trying to figure out the factory HID to Halogen conversion. Say for example I bought a Halogen assembly, what is the aftermarket wiring harness for? Is it specific for the Halogen conversion?

Yes. The factory hid harness plugs into the ballast instead of the bulb so you need the adapter harness that plugs into the factory hid harness to make it be able to plug straight into the halogen bulb.

@@ZPTVChannel I’m sorry man I’m confused again 😅, if I buy a Halogen assembly, then what would the adapter specifically plug in to? Does the Halogen assembly still have the HID harness? Because the Halogen assembly Im looking at doesn’t have a ballast at the bottom. Just tryna be 100% before I buy all this stuff.

The adapter plugs into the plug that plugs into the ballast. The halogen won’t have the ballasts.

I accidently ordered a hallogen housings for an 03 with xennnon. Just debating if i should retrun them or attempt to convert to halogen. My question, is, is the comverstion just a matter of eliminating the balast and having a connection to plug into the hallogen bulb? Or does the harness from ebay provide some other function . Besides alsoi msking it look clean instead cutting splicing wires.

That’s pretty much it. It’s just taking the power that initially went to the ballast and sends it to the halogen or led light.

Cool, I'll try it. Get some plugs for the halogens at pick in pull. $50 isn't bad for the harness but $50 just make something you never see pretty I'll skip. Thanks for your response.

Super helpful! Unfortunately that link to the conversion harness links to the wrong piece. It links to one with a Male end for the halogen bulb side. It obviously needs to be Female to fit into the bulb. Any ideas on where to get the correct harness?

I’m not sure they changed body styles in 13 and I don’t know if they changed the connectors…

So you just order led housing for the none hid model Altima? And you said you just use the old brackets ?

Yes it’s technically halogen housings but as long as it’s not the his housing it’ll work. And there are brackets that attach to the old headlights you have to swap to the new ones.

Your headlight lenses are badly faded and hazed over from sun damage. I would recommend polishing them up with some Mother's headlight or aluminum rim polish for about 5-10 minutes on each side and your lenses will look a LOT more clear.

Hey when converting HID to Halogen, do you still need the ballast?

No. The halogen housings don’t have a spot for the ballasts to mount. Basically that wiring harness bypasses the ballast all together!

@@ZPTVChannel thanks man.. I have 03 Acura TL typeS that's mint low mileage and I love it.. I cant get rid of it.. but I was in an accident in it and it messed up the drivers side low beams had it fixed and got it back home and now a month later both head lights are not coming on took it back and they said the ballasts were bad.. I'm getting power through all the electricals just no low beams .. but the problem is the ballasts are like almost a 1k a piece.. and I cant justify spending over 2k on headlights.. so I want to convert them to Halogen.. so I'm hoping this works

Right! That was my issue. The driver side was starting to flicker so I went to replace it and the ballasts for mine are like $300 and the bulbs are $100 so I figured I’d just swap to halogen and then get leds.

Yes! The only reason I didn’t install them in this video is because they hadn’t come in yet! I switched to leds shortly after this!

I’m not sure.. I’m pretty sure the adapter is also used for the maxima but I’m not sure how it would work as far as getting bulbs that fit the hid housings or if the maxima also came with a halogen option.

I just looked it up and it looks like they did have a halogen option! So you would need to buy the halogen headlight housings, the adapter harness, and obviously new halogen or led bulbs!

Yea thats the issue im running into with Hid factory the headlight is built into the headlight so im trying to figure how to replace the whole thing switch it to halogen just so i can get the leds i want nissan was real trifling for this shit lol

Right lol just look up 2012 maxima halogen headlights (youll have to buy these for the conversion) and then get the adapter and your choice of bulbs and you should be good!

The low beams are most likely hids so you’ll need an adapter harness and new housings to run led lights in the low beams..

Where do you get the halogen equivalent headlight assembly? My car stock had HID with ballast.

You just buy the non hid headlight housings. Depending on your car it should have a hologram style housing and an hid style housing.

I’m not sure of any aftermarket options unless you wanted to retrofit which would mean cutting up your factory headlights.... mine was so simple because it comes factory with a halogen option.
