07 - Import Data from an Another Excel Workbook using Power Query

In this video, I will show you how to get the data from another Excel workbook into your current workbook.
This can be really useful when you use the data from a file that is often updated and you have to use the updated data. Instead of manually doing it, you can easily use Power Query to connect the external workbook with your current workbook. If the data changes after a few days, you can get the new data instantly with a single click.

thanks a lot for your efford but have a question for another case related to that one. So I have that Sales Data file which we pull the datas to the other sheet in the video,ok. But lets say I also have another file which I just only have SOME of those item's name in it, not all of them. Imagine, I only want to pull quantity and price colum of those Items that I have in my file .How can we do that? I hope you would record a video of that case too or guide me . Thanks.

Thanks for the video. I can see the "Delimeter" and "Data Type Detection" options in one file but can't see in another file while importing the data from txt file. How to resolve? Please help

hallo Sumit, thank you for specific videos for each option in power query. On Excel workbook, does it allow to upload all types of excels like xlsb, xlsm, xlxs, xls and so on.

Hi sir. Let's say, I have to add additional column (Ex. Status) as text. Whenever there is a change to the source like insert new rows in the middle or at the end, it shift the status that make record is not correct. Can you suggest the approach to fix it?

Hello Sumit Sir, Can we use power Query to combine data either from several workbooks Or several sheets from several workbooks. Also the important scenario is all data Has no relation with each other's. Actually I'm looking to import data from a total of 5 workbooks and approx more than 30 sheets. Hi Sir, Thank you for your efforts. One issue I saw is when you changed the data type as percentage, in excel it was still shown as decimal. Is that normal? Another issue is my system date is DDMMYYYY format but while pulling data from text, I saw the format changed to MMDDYYYY. How to resolve it sir?
