In this video I show the location of the wiring for the upfitter aux switches on a ford superduty. I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.
Switch 1 is 25 amp and yellow
Switch 2 is 25 amp and green - brown
Switch 3 is 10 amp and violet - green
Switch 4 is 10 amp and brown

Thanks Jason. We have an 08 F350 work truck and I'm pretty knowledgeable of wiring things up, but you just saved me quiet a bit of time I would have spent to figure out how to pull the switch panel out to hook up directly to the switches, when we hook up our strobe lights. Following now.

Sw 1 and 2 are 25amp, sw3 and 4 are 10 and 15 amp...I do believe...all 4 are switched hot...any negative connection can be clean chasis ground

I am laughing at my self right now! 😆 If I had seen this video before I started wiring my fog lights in, there is a couple things I could have took from your video already that could have made it easier. Can I ask KZfaq to put this at the front end of the "Upliffter switches F-350" search?!! Great video, thanks, and the info here will help me finish up the job. Just wish I came across this sooner.

I hate working under the dash too. People just don’t fit easily under there. They make a creeper type thing that is basically a board with one side stand that you put the other end on the floor at the door and you can lay on it so your laying outside the vehicle at the floor level.

I have another question. If I’m working on wiring a light bar, do I just run the positive/hot up to one of those up fitter wires, and ground somewhere on the chassis?

so you tap the positive of your light into 1 of the 4 factory aux switch wires (in your video) and then just run the ground from the light to any ground surface on the truck? thanks

Yes. Make sure you get a quality light. Some of the cheaper led lights will cause static on the radio

Because you might be running interior or rear bound accessories (cb, rear work lights, inverter, etc) that's why they give you the firewall pass through wires as well.

Aux 1 just stop working on me today. I looked on the manual. Showing a relay for it and a fuse. Checked both not working. Although the light does not come on at all on the switch.

Could you explain better, what colors are for which switch? There's aux 1, 2, 3, and 4. So, there should be 4 hots and a ground. What colors are the hots?

Switch 1 is the yellow wire and 25 amp fused Switch 2 is green-brown and 25 amp fused Switch 3 is violet-green and 10 amp fused Switch 4 is brown and 15 amp fused I don’t think there is a ground feed in the wiring but you can get a ground from anywhere really Here’s a link to the wiring diagram it’s the last page for this year range. www.rafna.com/rafna/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/FordSuper.pdf

When wiring up AUX lights to upfitter switch ires what do you do with the negative wire from AUX lights?

You would just ground the negative wire to the frame, body, or something metal that has continuity to ground. You can go to the ground terminal if you like.

Why would I have power to 4 wires under steering wheel but no power to wired behind fuse box? I was able to find wires hidden but nothing to any of them.

The 4 wires behind the fuse box are pass through wires. They are just small pieces of wire the go from the inside to the outside so you don’t need to drill a hole in the fire wall and seal the wire and hole. You need to connect one of the switched wires to one of the pass through wires to get power to the wire behind the fuse box. I don’t know why it’s like this but it is.

What trim is the truck you're using? Does the upfitter switches fit into an XL trim truck?

No there are relays already installed on the switches.

The relays are under the dash on the drivers side, I’m not sure exactly where and the switches are fused. Switch 1 should be f94 and switch 2 should be f95 in the under hood battery fuse block and switch 3 should be f9 and switch 4 should be f2 in the body control module which I believe is in the passenger foot well.

They are for any auxiliary lighting or what ever you want to run off the switched power source. They just help with the step of getting power into the cab and making a switched source that is better looking than a switch mounted in the dash. It’s more for a commercial application but They don’t do anything on there own.

5 minutes of rambling and I'm still not sure which wires to look for. I need lights on the outside of the truck I don't need that shit under the steering wheel that's not doing anybody any good. Where do you hook up wires under the hood for external lighting
