This a a known and common problem for the 1.6. If it burning a lot of oil its PCV and if ya dont fix it in time it will start blowing out seals.

Yeah, mine out of nowhere started losing oil and didn't see any leaks of any kind, so ima replace this lovely gadget.

Note: After replacing the PCV valve, my oil consumption went from about 1qt every 2500 miles to 1 qt every 3500 miles.

Im getting oil in my throttle body and where the air tube which attaches to the throttle body is wet with oil Could this be a pcv valve issue Car is 2011 kia rio 1.4 petrol. uk

I’m not familiar with the 1.4 but I would image it could be related. The pcv system vents crankcase gases back to the intake to be burned.

I got the same car, engine in the video looks identical to the 2007 rio after you take the vanity cover off

Is there torque specs when tightening? And does this always through a check engine light or not always? I have a slight whistle from engine after a timing belt change and it seems to be not coming from the timing belt. Could this whistle be the pcv valve even with no check engine light?
