The main reason Alaina Reed as Olivia quit Sesame Street in 1988 was because of her conflicted schedule. During her last three years on the show, she was traveling back and forth from NY to CA to do another show called 227. After she had quit Sesame Street, she continued with 227 until it got canceled in 1990.

For the same time, Alaina Reed traveled between New York City, New York (where Sesame Street is taped) and Los Angeles, California (where 227 was taped). She left Sesame Street in 1988, but continued with 227 until the show's ending in 1990.

It's a shame she passed away in 2009.

Well I do remember Roscoe Orman’s Gordon having a beard when he first made his debut by Season 6, but I definitely don’t remember him having Afro Hair at all unless you’re referring him to Matt Robinson’s Original Gordon.

I miss Olivia so much (I still have VHSes with her in it) Sesame Street needs more human characters right now! Half them are gone and there are only 4! It's half empty in here. Anf human skin-colored muppets do not count
