@TheQade
@TheQade 7 жыл бұрын
I meant that he could use stock cooler and buy the cheapest case and power supply, or eaven used ones on ebay. Those components don't really matter. The whole lot should probably cost $50 not $250. Imagine how much more powerful cpu or gpu could he have gotten with the $200 saved.
@drizzify7850
@drizzify7850 7 жыл бұрын
Stock coolers are shit, why do you think most people buy an after market CPU cooler. And most cheap cases have shit build quality and don't look good and have bad air flow. And a 75 dollar power supply is on the cheap side of a good, power efficient PSU and will save you money in the long run on electricity and will last longer.

An RX 1600 at 220 is probably still better though. It's close to or much better than the i5, depending on how the applications scales with multiple cores. The i5 would only be better at current 1080p gaming, while Ryzen would be better in most demanding non-gaming programs and will work better in the future, because of 6 core support that will inevitably come thanks to Coffee Lake, so both CPU manufacturers will soon have 6 core mainstream CPUs.

I normally don't mind sponsored content but this was just misleading, painful and straight up lies. I hope anyone watching doesn't take it to heart. I mean $75 cooler on a locked i5? That's plain stupid. Way better to go with a lower cost case Ryzen and a beefier gpu 1060-1080 (OGvz), I'm pricing my New build out to about $900 with an 1800x and a 1060 or rx580. This really took a blow to my credibility of LMG. This was a poorly integrated sponsor spot.

Well this is a build guide, a video to help someone put together the computer after they've bought all the parts. They didn't say you're going to get the best performance per dollar out of it. By saying $1000 budget, that just means they could only spend up to $1000, it doesn't mean anything about performance. And the line about "value optimized" around 2 minutes in could mean they value aesthetics over performance, which in this case means they sold out to Be Quiet!
@volkswagenginetta
@volkswagenginetta 7 жыл бұрын
ColPaint, don't be disingenuous. Everyone in the Pc gaming commmunity has the same defition for value optimized and 1000 dollar budget. list/ZbMCcc (that is for pcpartpicker). With that build i got in a hard drive with TWICE the space (2tb instead of one), a gtx 1070 vs an rx 480, and the operating system and we are still under budget (almost 50 bucks under budget) and performance wise objectively this would perform better
@ajohnson153
@ajohnson153 7 жыл бұрын
Agreed, when I look at a vid for a budget build I have a reasonable expectation that the maker of said vid researched and found the best performing parts at the given price point. Aesthetics are nice, but tempered glass and rgb don't help performance.

Marcio Easho i dont think its about that tbh. You can get both a quiet and cool system with a 1070 and 7600k. Its not even like its going to be that much louder a couple decibels at most which you wont even notice if you wearing headphones. Put a CM 212 and some fans and you will get a lot more for your money. I'd prefer a 'quiet and cool' system that can play at 60fps+ 1440p and VR than just a 'quiet and cool system' Case closed.

Lol bullshit. Ryzen doesn´t "suck" for gaming. The only people who will even notice a difference are super high refreshrate gamers that have GPU setups you only have wet dreams off. Your puny GPU won´t even stress a 6 core Ryzen chip. Just stay away from the Quadcores, no point. There is only very certain use-cases where stronger single core performance matters, and that is the simulation crowd, as our engines are old and not multi-threaded.
@lucasscampoli
@lucasscampoli 7 жыл бұрын
how does it suck for gaming? i dont think a 3-5 % difference in most games is worth sacrificing both the core advantage, value, and workstation power that the ryzen chips have just to get a little extra performance, which mind you, will get much worse in the future due to AMD working with developers to get the games optimised for the architecture. Also could you fuck off with replying to every comment on this video, you're acting like a child

also I don't think games will keep limiting for four cores for long, Ryzen 5 gives 3~5% disadvantage in some games, with major advantages and better minimum framerates (less stutter) in others also it's locked i5 vs unlocked Ryzen, overclock and ggwp

Dislike because the sponsor stuff used in this build costs too much for a $1000 build to the point where you had to compromise on the CPU and motherboard.
@AlexanderVRadev
@AlexanderVRadev 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah qality stuff is expensive. Cheap stuff fail and cost double the prise tag. I ain't got enough money to buy cheap. And if you are saying i5 7500 (the best bang for your money from Intel) and Asus MoBo (probably the best MoBo manifacturer) is compromisng than you need a wake up call. You don't need a fancy gaming MoBo. It doens't give you anything more than a hole in your pocket. And OC CPUs are cool to tinker with, but at the end of the day you pay 30%+ more for OC CPU, high priced MoBo and high speed RAM and get about 10% more performance. OC is for people that want to OC, not for people that want to save money. The 2 can't wrk together.
@davidli3582
@davidli3582 7 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying buy cheap no-name eBay parts. You can save quite a bit of money getting a Cooler Master cooler, entry-level Corsair Carbide tower, and a $40 EVGA power supply. It won't be as cool looking or quiet but the money saved can go towards an overclockable CPU and motherboard or towards a better graphics card.
@AlexanderVRadev
@AlexanderVRadev 7 жыл бұрын
I could bye cooler master cooler that is the same price. The cheper Cooler master are the same compared to cheaper be quiet in performance. Its just the brand name, so that is inconsecuential. A CPU cooler is a CPU cooler and for the same price you get similar performance no matter the brand. there are diferences, but those are about a person's preferance, not major diference in quality. Corsair Carbide c400 is in fact my choice of case. However again with the case its the brand that is diferent, but not the quality. 100 dolars can get you c400, be quiet silent base 600, NZXT 340 elite and so on and so on. But if you go chaper you get the same overall quality for the same price no matter the brand. Again it is up to a person where they spend their money. Some care about silent, because once you get used to quiet fans, the stock Intel stuff drive you mad. Others wan't cool looking PC, because if they are to give a crapload of money they wan't it to at least be awesome to look at since it will be in front of tham for hours, and a few less fps is ok for that. Others still care about performance per dolar and nothing else. It can look like crap, sound like a jet engine and heat up the room like a radiator in winter, buit it can run Crysys" so they are happy. Some people want to Overclack, just to be able to tinker with the PC and overclack, even though an OC CPU gives you about 5-10% fps diference in games and costs 20-30% more to buy the CPU, MoBo and RAM combo. And all of those are valid. However you can't say Linus is compromising on the CPU and MoBo, for useless crap like CPU Cooler, case fans PSU etc. Its just diferent take on a build, and what a person wants to acheve. If you wan't most performance out of the PC, this is not for you. If you wan't silent, cool, nice looking, high quality, power efficient PC, that will last 5-10 yers, even though it gets slightly less fps than this is legit. I stll would get gtx 1060 3GB and a diferent case but the main idea is totally fine.

In my opinion, this is a much better build. pcpartpicker.com/list/ 1600 comes with cpu cooler and it is good enough, you can upgrade later. 8gb ram is enough as well. Even cheaper by going for an rx580, or take out SSD ( but seriously don't, they are great ), or cheaper case and PSU. This supports overclocking as well.

A nice case is, by definition, not value. You pay more for the same performance. Free to, but there are perfectly good cases for 30€ that don't have sharp edges, are compatible with most of the stuff you'd run in a gaming rig and have a perfectly good airflow (it doesn't really take a transcendental genius to make a case with decent airflow, after all).

The CPU isn't even overclockable, so it doesn't need anything beyond the stock cooler. This is so fucking dumb.

it is a sponsored video, don't know if you can see that on mobile (you probably watched it in your phone if you didn't read it) so it has to feature the sponsors

+Irving Chies - that's still no reason to be completely unreasonable. Be quiet! has way more budget friendly options available (e.g. Pure Rock instead of Dark Rock 3 for $50 less, 500W Power supply of the same model instead of 600W, $25 less) and 2400 Mhz RAM on a Mainboard supporting only 2133 are another $20 wasted... So, they could have easily saved $100 and still have featured the sponsors, in a even better way - with a reasonable build which premium price of about $100 is justified by quality & aesthetics, instead of this totally unreasonable thing that hurts the reputation of LTT (for being unprofessional) and maybe even be quiet! (for being unreasonably expensive).

I usually love LTT videos but this build isn't budget friendly. Grab a Ryzen and a 1060 or rx580 and you'll be so much farther ahead.

The rx580 is not only pretty much the exact same as the 480, but it wasn't out when he recorded this video. But I totally agree with not a budget friendly build. I mean why spend 100 on a case and 75 on an unnecessary CPU cooler?

Both are cool looking. Both are reusable. Both are very high quality. And in that case you need a good CPU cooler as it is silent but somewhat airflow restricvted from the front. And you spend the extra money because in a 1000 dolars build you don't aim only for fps per dolar, but also for silence, low temprature, good looks, and quality that will last you more than 2 or 3 years.
