I have a bit of an idea for resource farming. Once you take over a CP and you fully stock their resources, talk to the CP Officer and select a resource that YOU need (eg Carbon Fiber). A team of friendly NPCs are dispatched to gather them. Display a "gathering resources" timer above the CP on the map. Come back to the CP an hour later, and collect your resources. More incentive to take over CP's, keep them green, keep their food and water fully stocked, and makes the friendly NPCs more involved in your overall success.

There is one other CP I like to hit depending on my needs. The Choke (the CP across the street from the castle settlement) has a bunch of yellow (polycarbonate) boxes near it. Once you collect the 5 boxes in the spawn area, head out and then turn left (you are running away from the castle settlement) and you’ll run into the first yellow box there. From there, go left into the big concrete building and loop through it. Eventually, you’ll get out to the open area on the south side (there is a usually a target practice event there and it’s a spawn point for the roaming named bosses) where the train tracks are. The train cars have lots of stuff in them and I finish up on the other side of the train tracks where there are two yellow boxes. You’ll get close to 100 polycarbonate from that one area.

I'm older than you with two lads nearly finished school but I'm still a gamer and only recently into TD2. (I'm 56 for the record!!). I play original Doom 3 weeks before release, so that's old! Across the street there's another building where you open the broken glass doors. There's materials there, special ammo crate, water, and an weapon crate. It has a tiger on the wall behind the building.

The residential area behind the Overgrowth is good for this kind of farm as well, quite a lot of boxes in the nooks and crannies in the fenced off area and the town houses.

Farming would be awesome if the amounts were adjusted accordingly. If your level 30 or 40 depending on if you have the dlc then resources need to be increased on looting out in the open world and also breaking down gear and weapons. Increase the amount looted by at least +15 to each material looted which is a bad idea since the costs for optimization and recalibration and expertise are wildly expensive. I would also love to see the random material that's faction specific disappear. I don't want to waste materials that I just farmed on getting a miniscule amount of faction material for a one shot optimization upgrade. Adjust the costs of recalibration, optimization, and possibly crafting. Thankfully they increased the amounts you can hold.

Love doing the Mast. I run it a little different, hit that immediate area, run to the back, then out that gate to the right, up that side on the way back you'll hit several component boxes. On way back hit that lookout area where Snitch spawns then run back in to that area right before if I have the time I'll hit that underground area outside. Easy peasy!

That last farm can be extended all the way back to the control point to the west. there is tons between those 2 control points.

There's a few more crates that you could have grabbed when you climb up those areas on that left side when you exit the haunted house from the back but there are few areas I didn't know thanks for the advice keep up the great work

Now I think is the time I talk about a looter based gearset! Not only increasing resources dropped but the quality including exotic components. And it will also have a pulse for you to always see loot in the area! I actually have a whole idea and would love to run it by the devs! 😂

Solar check point is by far the best one, the whole area is just full of resources, especially if you give the guy at the control point some resources they pop out as a glow from a good distance so you'll have no issues in finding them. The only one i didn't know was the haunted house control point, i never go out the back window, but i will now. I wish they gave more out of a box, you only get about 4 or 5 components which isn't alot. But yep a very efficient resource farming method.

The Vault north of the White House is a good one too. Theirs a weapons crate hanging in the alley on the west side of the CP. There’s also a materials crate hanging in the middle of the park. There’s usually a named elite in the middle of the park too, but it’s a solid area to farm

If you do all but the NE CP in downtown east they continually do resource convoys to and from Cinder Block or south of DUA. Hang around the intersection east of the China town public execution and farm them

Almost the entirety of the East Mall is great for farming, even just moving from sink hole thru solar farm is maybe 20 minutes at good efficiency

Funny how some people just think alike lol. Lately I been running countdown but just rinse and repeat I will say new York has been fun but only because haven't went there in a long time. . This really is good way tho. People complain my expertise level isn't high th I s video will help.

What about using an additional character for field recon data and SHD recalibration points that can be shared with your other character? Is that worth the hassle?

So let me ask you this I have have a friend and he join my game and we do this in my game then I join his game and we do same thing is that will work or no?

Also here's another small way to increase your material farming. Make secondary characters, take them through wony with the boost just so it's faster. Once finished, use them as an additional recourse for exotics, material potentials are x9, 3 caches for each character, x12 if you don't have a hc character. Also each level you gain across all your characters will add a scav point for each level gained, x4 points for each character with each level gain. Best main resource farm is the one east of roosy. All 3 types relatively close to eachother and each are loaded with boxes. Starting from roosy moving away from the mission, first is water, components, then food. You'll eventually get the rest from suitcases/bags or if you go through the DC mall farm. At the end, and at the end of that FOB area, headed west, there's a resource airdrop in the trees. And get one of your highest dps builds, set the world diff for you characters (other than your main) to normal or at least hard. Take every CP and leave. Next day, go back and fast travel to each CP to open the supply room boxes, rinse and repeat for each character. :)

You can also get Exotic components from almost any box doing the CP's

I kinda wish there was a game mode that was good for resources. It could be like attacking enemy warehouses and stockpiles.

I just got back into the division 2 a couple of days ago and just reached level 40, to be exact level 17 on the watch. I went into the darkzone a couple of times but got my ass kicked badly in groups by solo players lol. Due to that I started building a striker build and just got most of the parts to finish the striker build, I am still grinding for a better backpack and chest piece with high rolls, trying to do the same with the striker pieces I have. Do you recon that the striker build is good for pvp and pve (legendary or heroic)?

Literally just take over all of the CPs and leave em green. Takes about an hour to fast travel through all the control points collecting mats. Then at sinkhole make the run between sinkhole solar farm and plane crash.
