Build of a 1:1 common mode choke from beginning to end. The RF issues of my friend solved with the choke. Definitely a success.

so you don’t have to wrap the toroid with coax wire? Can I use 16 gauge speaker wire?

You could but it might behave differently than the higher quality 18 gauge silver plated PTFE wire I used. The speaker wire insulation isn't as heat resistant so if the wire gets warm that can cause issues. Otherwise I'm not sure what else might change. I haven't tried other wires.

Looking at the strippers when he strips the wire at 55:22 I would say 16 gauge.

If you clamp the vice down in the first place it would not done that to you lol steeper bit will do the same thing lol
