The Heavyarms is basically the A-10 Warthog of the Gundam universe. Also, I decided to change things up a bit and changed the camera position. Let me know what you think.

Heavyarms did use the handle in the series. However, it was in a blink and you'll miss it shot. In Episode 17, when Duo and Quatre were attacking the OZ base to steal some shuttles to go back into space, they were getting the butts kicked until Wufei in Shenlong arrived to help. Wufei told Duo and Quatre that the others got the message. Duo scanned the news channels and saw the Wing Gundam and Heavyarms, as they were in different parts of the world, infiltrating OZ bases to go back to space, too. It's during these news clips Duo is cycling through that shows Heavyarms using the handle on his gatling shield.

I wasn't planning on grabbing this but with Kirby Morrow's passing yesterday, and this being an update of my first ever Gunpla, I think I should grab it.

Y'know, with these recent Wing HGs and especially Heavyarms, I wonder how an HGAW Leopard Gundam would be

Bandai are HORRIBLE about keeping their scale consistent.

I used to dislike all of the Wing mobile suit designs, but these modern kits are winning me over. I have the HG Sandrock and the RG Tallgeese and holy smokes are they gorgeous. Now I think Heavyarms will join the club

As I said in the unboxing video: Wing is getting so much love recently. Here are the statistics: MS that have modern HG/RG kit: Heavyarms, Sandrock, Tallgeese I, II and II, Wing Zero, Wing Zero EW, Leo, Magnac (and it's variants as P-Bandai kits) Upcoming: Deathsycthe, Wing Gundam (tv), Sandrock custom, Vayeate and Mercurius, and possibly heavyarms custom. Older/outdated kits: The EW versions of all the main suits except Wing Zero, Altron (tv version), Deathsycthe hell, Shenlong, Epyon, Serpent custom and Taurus. And these guys don't have kits yet: Cancer, Virgo, Virgo II, Aries, Pisces, Oflifant and Tragos. If Wing keeps getting love, what kits do you think they will do next? My money is on RG Epyon and HG Virgo.

After watching this, I’m convinced you’ll absolutely love the HG AGE-1 Normal you just bought. It too has a moving back skirt which I’m sure you can make some simple modifications to make move separately. The ankles are designed very similarly with the one ball joint on the ankle guards, allowing for really wide stances. The color separation is almost perfect, only requiring stickers for the black kneecaps alongside the foil stickers. This is all really good for modern High Grades, but considering this kit came out nine years ago, it’s astounding.

been looking forward to this review , heavy arms is one my fav gundams . the MG kit was amazing but been waiting a long time for a decent 1/144

2:15 I would also highly recommend painting the arm blade silver.

IMO the only way they could have reduced the size of the hinges without them being fragile would be parts replacement where you would remove the piece and "re-place" them in open mode.

If you played gundam wing endless duel from the snes. You can see the heavyarms use the handle of the beam gatling when firing.

This gundam is basically "the more guns the better"

It also has the hand grip on the on the early 2000s model action figures. I think it was supposed to be cannon but were left out to simplify animation.

Heavyarms may not be the most powerful Gundam ever made, but it's the one I'd pick if I could have one irl Mobile Suit.... (as long as I could also own a massive fortune and an ammo manufacturing plant).

You don't remember the Heavyarms using the beam gatling handle because they reuse like three different animations for firing the beam gatling more than 10 times each.

Maybe now that this is out people will actually believe me when I tell them Heavyarms ALWAYS had a normal arm under the Gatling, it’s not an invention of the EW version. I mean, I thought showing them line art and stills from the anime (both the OPs and the show itself) was enough, but nostalgia blinds people.

It would be the third version if I get it. I've got a worse for wear HG Heavyarms Custom and an MG Heavyarms Custom. Getting my hands on the OG machine would be perfect.

HG Heavyarm customs is probably on the way too with the double gatling gun (and maybe the bean saber too!?)

I've personally liked the heavy arms with the twin gatling gun more than the sngle gatling gun, but that's for another day.

as I just got this, was hoping it came with the space upgrades with the extra thrusters for the back, and the double gatling gun, still happy with it, now waiting for that rg wing gundam tv and hg deathscythe that just got announced

I have a feeling an eventual Heavyarms Kai with the double barreled beam gatling and beam saber with adapter will be a P-Bandai at some point down the road...

The new models are so much better but my first go in the hobby was in the late 90s and those early gundam wing models really blew my mind at how good snap fit models could be, after my car model friends sneered at them for years. They're... not great, compared to the HGUC lines, and if you wanted to make them look good they took a lot of work, but considering you could get them at big box stores and they were $10 they were a great intro to gunpla for me. I think a new heavyarms is a breath of fresh air for everybody but the old model still isn't bad for what it was.

It's annoying that these upgraded editions are Pbandai. Sandrock Kai comes with that beam Uzi and a few backpack parts. Waiting for an announcement for the heavyarms Kai to get that double beam gatling.

I hope they'll make a new 1/144 of the EW version. Specifically, I'd like an improvement on the double Gatling guns.

We have the Wing, last year we got the Sandrock, (With the late-season Kai variant as a P-Bandai) this year it was the Heavyarms and next year it's the Deathscythe. Altron is mostly done thank to his Jiyan variant from Build Divers so it's only a matter of time before he's created. But what about the Tallgeese & Epyon?

i'm looking forward to them making the mobile doll kits.

Personally I will always prefer the EW versions because I love the extra detail, but the TV version will always have a place in my heart.

I have a love-hate relationship with Heavy Arms. I love that he is range- barrage focused, but I hate how his chest guns are designed. With the guns so close to the cockpit, you really need to pad it out. And where do the bullet even come from or enter? There is no egress of sorts. Other than that, it is a clean design. However, his second design is just too much guns that it's ridiculous.

Time to build smash the shit out of this
