Oh yeah! I made a previous comment about the '56 Mercury and then later saw the Falcon. My 2nd car w-a-y back in '69 was one of these. A 1963 1/2 Ford Falcon Sprint with bucket seats & a 260 cu. in. V-8. Long gone but never forgotten!

I saw a pink Lincoln Premiere a few days ago when I was walking in my neighborhood. Quite a surprise. I think my dad’s sister had one of these. The last time I was there was over 60 years ago, but I remember the car. The Hudsons had a large displacement six-cylinder engine and were fast. Hudson lost market share because they did not have a V-8. Hudson was acquired by Nash Kelvinator Corporation but did not last very long. The last Hudsons were really Nashes with body detail changes. The Nash Metropolitan, or at least the four-cylinder engine they had, was produced by Austin in the U.K. It probably would have been faster than a VW Beetle of the time. The Rambler was the one Nash model that endured. My grandmother had a turquoise three tone 1957 Rambler (it would be a fun car to model if a kit existed) and I had cousins that had several Ramblers in the 1960s and 70s. Kaiser had a similar fate as they only offered six-cylinder engines. The Kaiser Manhattans in the mid-Fifties were strikingly good looking. Thanks for sharing the cars with us. They bring back memories of my childhood when these cars were on the road.

Very Cool! Some interesting useless trivia about that Henry J, a version of it was sold in the Sears catalog. They changed some of the trim and sold it as an Allstate, the same name used on their brand of tires and other automotive products. The convertible top on that 58 Lincoln is pretty neat. It folds down into that space in front of the trunk. There's a panel that opens up backwards just like the 57-59 Ford retractables and the 60s Tbird convertibles. It also has a roll down rear window like the Mercury Breezeway hardtop. Hudson and Nash merged to form American Motors (AMC.) When AMC went bankrupt in the 80s it was bought by Chrysler. That's why the Hudson name is licensed by Chrysler.

Fun video. What caught my attention was the '56 Mercury. At the beginning I was saying to you (duh...as if you could hear me! Kind of like hollering at other drivers on the road!) It's a '56 Mercury.... I have the full size car in my driveway. It's a 2 door hardtop not the convertible but it DOES have the exact same color scheme. Factory Niagra blue and Lauderdale blue. The rest of these cars are awesome. Thanks for showing them!

Man put me the column of love every minute of this video! those cars are unique! Proper opening doors and hood hinges sweet! I inherited some 1/18 from a close friend when he died back in 2015 mostly Ertl's. Not as detailed as your dad's God bless your dad! The Lincoln continental works like a sunliner! Hope it does work had one in 1/25 Franklin mint and the top went into the trunk area I sold it long ago!

The Hudson is a 52 model Hornet, the engine in the real car would be an inline 6 with Twin H Power, the Twin H Power was introduced in 1952, but those cars were built to cruise at 100 mph plus, even before the Twin H model was introduced.

The Hornet looks like a 1949,or '50. They were sometimes mistaken for the "49 Mercury. You notice that the bodies look very similar. Ford aquired Lincolon motor car company sometime around 1929.

Man I thought these would be just the generic die cast from Maisto or Road Max at first. But no, these are the really good and highly detailed models you get from the boutique model car brands like AUTOart. Your father had really good taste in 1/18th die cast models. If you ever want to sell them, do your research first because you really do have collectables on your hands...not cheap stuff.

Your Nash is a '53 Statesman. My Mom had the real car when I was very young. Your Hudson is a '51 Hornet Hollywood. And yes, your '56 Lincoln ran a 368 cube V-8 and automatic transmission. Hope this helps you out. I really like your collection. BTW, I DID own a '59 Lincoln Premier in high school that had a nasty habit of vapor locking on a hot summer day. Used to see some Henry Is, but the Tinworm got most of them. Even in the '60s they were considered oddballs. Sears sold the same car as the Allstate from '52-'55. Last question I have is who makes these cars and how do I get them.
