It really rather depends on whether it's a petrol or gas engine, the gas engine will die prematurely due to valve retention in the soft alloy head, and whether or not it's a manual or automatic and whether or not it was driven in regional Australia or a capital city and how often oil and filter and coolant was replaced, auto transmissions will die in Falcons typically at 250000 kilometres in the city , but in the outback 500000+ if it's a manual they can do 1000000+ and the clutch kit can be bought for less than $200 for a Falcon, automatic transmission will cost around $2500-$3500 plus cost of fitting $500+ However this car had 217000 kilometres on the odometer, the odometer is capable of showing 7 digits so on this occasion I find the vlog hard to believe. All engines except diesel will end up with valve, ring and bearing wear, and the Falcon Intech and Barra engine are known for spun bearings and oil seal leaks not to mention coolant leaks especially prior to 2007

Im not saying that they are lying, it's possible for a country driven Falcon whether Intech or Barra to do 1 million kilometres, however only if they are looked after and I will make a distinction between country driven Falcons and ones driven in Australian capital cities, it's a known fact that country driven Falcons last longer, stopping and starting at traffic lights hasten the death of any engine and auto transmission, ask a mechanic about auto transmissions it doesn't matter if it's a Rolls Royce Holden or Ford, the clutch packs wear. Even Falcon taxis have their transmission overhauled between 250000 and 300000 kilometres. One of the most crucial factors is how often oil and filter changes were performed, if you don't change your oil and filter after 10000 kilometres you will have sludge build up that will definitely shorten the life of your engine, doesn't matter what car manufacturer. Diesel engines can easily do 1 million kilometres, but even they can fail prematurely due to neglected oil changes

@user-ds2ej3wn8p diesel engines fail more cause of egr, intake getting sludged up, low compression, injection fail I'm an engine builder and see more diesel than petrol for anything newer than 1990 previous to that its mainly v8's getting performance parts and machineing done

Merry Christmas to you too mate! It had its oil and filter changed every 5000km... i think sometimes he would stretch it to 8k. So yeah pretty regularly haha

I serviced the ute every 15,000 km's never missed a service, ran Ford oil for every service but never touched the gear box. Put in a K&N Filter from the first day and it still has the original K&N filter in it.

Oil got changed every 10k, air filter got changed every now and then, it went through a water pump so in turn the radiator would of been flushed 👌

actually only replaced a second ball joint 3 weeks ago, the other stuff has never been replaced, bloody roof lining keeps falling down though.

He was a courier driver! Delivered items to all the small country towns in southern W.A in one day in a round trip! Was great for doing my log book for the L's put 600000 on a Ford transit before the ute too 🤣

Leafs in the back are original same with the front shocks 👌the car spent alot of time on the hwy so suspension wasnt getting pushed to hard.. I don't even think a ball went in the front 🤣
