Mr. Shiffman, this was terrific - I’m a retired old guy having spent nearly 40 years in software development but only at the tail end needing to deal with github - I wish this video had been available then. “Fork” vs “pull request” was never clear to me until 3:00 here and suddenly a light bulb that has stayed dark through countless other articles and videos was turned on. Not that I need it now, but just sayin’. Thank you.

@@Herzfeld10 Yep, development tools sure have evolved over the decades and software version control is obviously no exception. Maybe git was so simple it went right by me, but it wasn’t prevalent (at least in our organization) until my later years. Old dogs, new tricks (coincidentally I turned 70 today so, yes, I’m old school).

I am a SW engineer for 35 years and worked with a lot of Configuration management systems (I was also a manager of SW departments). I have no words to express my admiration to the way you explain so shortly, clearly and accurately a complex system in a simple manner. You are an artist!!! Obviously enthusiasm and passion to the material you introduce is amazing. BTW, this domain in all workshops I had were not so "sexy" to say the least. You succeed to make it wonderful. Joel
