Today on the workbench, this very nice kit 1/32 scale from Zoukei Mura, Super wings series (SWS) the Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden.

A beautifully done aircraft. I truly enjoyed watching this entire build. The painting and weathering are superb. I do like the larger scale aircraft. 1/72 scale kits are difficult on these old eyes. Thank you for sharing this. I am a new subscriber and looking forward to your next video.

Seat looks so narrow compared to the width of the fuselage. I guess this plane was relatively "roomy" compared to for instance a Spitfire, especially considering the average Japanese pilot was probably smaller than the average European airman

Excellent build and weathering. These planes were battered and worn in their areas of operation (Asia).

Thanks, the weathering is a very delicate "little" thing to deal with. Not too less, not too much. Still learning.

Obviously they served in Asia, but most J2M were based in Japan, and not some remote island. These were interceptors , hence the “J”

Great build. I am puzzled about one thing. I see you frequently using Tamiya Extra Thin glue to glue parts that have already been painted. I thought that the glue wouldn't work if the parts were covered with a coat of paint, and that the paint would have to be scraped off from the mating surfaces, but it doesn't seem to be a problem for you. Does the glue work fine for attaching parts that are already painted? If so, it can save me quite a bit of time and trouble doing assembly.

First, thanks for watching. I never had problem gluing a painted piece. The extra thin cement can disolve very easily the paint. The thing you have to be carefull is not to drop glue where you don't want. It 'll kill your paint job in an instant. Have a good build!

Thank you! I used no blueprints for that build. I used the well framed fuselage as a guide.

I don't believe the Japanese had Zinc Chromate primers available in WWII

Thanks for watching. There was a coating named "Aotake" that the japanese used for their aircraft. One of the shade is the same as zinc chromate. I don't know if the paint is chemically the same.

perfect job this is the first time i see someone pay attention to the finest details by applying "zinc chromate" as base paint , i know will be a pain in the aXX but will be perfect if the whole inside airframe and the interior coated with zine chromate as well😅
