Looks like something out of Star Wars the quadruple track is awesome .I love this crane. Number 1 for me.

it requires around 119 truck loads i was told. mainly for nuclear power plant work, stuff like that, but can be used for other things like roofs, if they wanted to lift the whole roof up at once!

the grey version in the pics is the prototype plastic version, they are producing the metal diecast version right now, and it will be red

I really liked that video presentation cranedude!!!!!!!! And thanks for the credits for some of my shots that I took when I was up there training on it. Nice job of editing and music. The model looked very detailed, but I think he made the mistake of having the VPC tray legs, on the outside ends of the tray, touching the ground. That would NEVER happen under any circumstances after the rig is assembled and the counterweights weights are in place.

Nice vid brand. Diecast models will be nice with you on this one as is a good presentation for a great mode but we have to wait another year to see the real thing.

the ptc will stand at 14ft 3inches, the 31000s would have only stood around 9ft, but the 31000s are not going to be made, unfortunately

I cannot imagine anyone building this gigantic machine without a possible object that it might lift. I to thought about this, and I do not have the answer. Just to transport and set it up would require dozens of trucks all dedicated to the one machine, which is a huge investment. I think maybe stadium roofs or the next largest WindMills may be the answer, but it is a guess only

Well not this one, I got the first prototype from 2008. Its no where near as detailed as this one. But I'm just happy to have a model of it finally

if they left it plastic, they could have casted 2's as much, in half the time, also it would be cheaper both for them and us, man does that thing look great though!

Why didn't Weiss bros take over this project? 200 limited release to start would have been cool.

Weiss bros wasn't created at the time, milo weiss worked for twh though who was going to produce it and he was the lead engineer in getting it together but it ended up costing way too much to produce, twh went out of business so he formed weiss bros with his brother Charles. But even owning his own model business, he still wasn't allowed to build it due to manitowoc not giving him permission on it. Ultimately it's on manitowoc. They just don't want it made.

@fightingirish8584 no problem, yea you would think they would Market the heck out of their flagship but it seems to me they are ashamed of it, now that they have relocated to shady grove PA, they can't even build another 31000. So the 2 that are built will be the only 2 ever made. I don't think they will build anything bigger than them anyways. Liebherr and mammoet have controlled the heavy crane market for years.
