1.8t chain tensioner failure causes low oil pressure and here is why.

I have replaced the chain tensioner on a 2004 A4 1.8t because it failed but the big problem was that afterwards the oil pressure warning kept coming on, well it's very important to make sure that you have the proper oil pressure. and I found the issue even though I have changed the oil the succión of the oil pump pulled the debris to clogged up the oil pump strainer.

Hey Good Video, Want to ask u real quick about tensioners failing continuously because of bad oil pressure ? Just replaced Oil pump with strainer, But is there an oil Galley or a duct that might be clogged? Thanks any Knowledge is appreciated

Not necessarily, now if you're using an aftermarket one. Expect that to happen I know the oe is about 1000.00 dollars.

Hello, good video! I have an 1.8T with new oil pump, filter, crankshaft and bearings but i have no oil pressure, do you think its possible its the chain tensioner? I dont know what else to check… Thanks!

You might have an internal leak.

@@abbsgarage.9676 this just happens when the car is hot at idle, if i rev up the pressure increases. an internal leak from where? Thanks!
