This Dolphins victory was a calm before the storm…and boy were the Phins were in for a rude awakening the following week when they went to Jacksonville.

This was the start of a pretty solid era for the Seahawks with Mike Holmgren as coach.

He had a good run with them. Some people feel that he should be inducted into the HOF because of this run along with his body of work with Packers and 49ers. And the Pete Carrol era has been the greatest for the Seahawks!

Actually when they first came into the NFL, they were in the NFC for 1 year before going to the AFC. And the Bucs were in the AFC for one year before they went into the NFC. Back in '76.

@@redpillfreedom6692 Had something to do with the expansion plan they had back then. I don't really remember. But with the rotation of playing now, that must be a rule that's gone now.

When Houston reentered the NFL in 2002 it was an AFC market and that would have meant a top heavy AFC so the league switched up divisions for balance. The NFC West was the most altered losing Carolina, Atlanta, and New Orleans to the NFC South with the Bucs (out of the NFC Central now North) and the Seahawks and Cardinals (still in the NFC East because they’d been in St. Louis) now in the new NFC West

The end of the Kingdome era in Seattle. A game so ugly, it was unfortunate someone had to win.
@marcus8133 жыл бұрын
@Jonathan Dee The One And Only The Kingdome was one of those concrete donuts that just didn't hold up when the next generation of venues rose from the ground. King County, Wash. didn't maintain it or invest in it very well and the Seahawks nearly moved as a result.
@KyleCaughlin3 жыл бұрын
@@marcus813 Mariners also nearly relocated. If it wasn't for Randy Johnson's effort in the 1 game playoff for the AL West and the ALDS, they would have moved.

@raypratt-bw9ib9 ай бұрын
Actually I think Miami had a record similar to that 8-2 mark that season before it all went south and even tho that 99 season was one of the worst in the JOHNSON/WANNSTEDT era,they still came thru in this one,but then never got off the bus for their NXT game!!Man till this day it bothers how they let MARINO end his career and yes I say let because even tho that D was tired and they were facing a buzzsaw of an offense,it's just ridiculous that u couldn't even slow the damn pace for a couple consecutive drives,now I don't recall if Fins DEFENSE was healthy at that point,but man,they still had some very good players on that side,in fact JIMMY just couldn't get the offense right,but he brought a great D to that team and pretty much immediately we saw flashes in 96 of what was to come and if only Marino had an offense in 98 cuz that year that DEFENSE was ranked #3 in yards and #1 in points but Dan was at the end and by this point he needed more help then ever before and just didn't get it but it was not a Marino friendly system either,and JJ just could not get the WR Marino needed,they had a good #2 in McDuffie and a solid #3 in Gadsden but no HR hitter but man I think a lot of us fans forget just how good that DEFENSE was in Miami and STAYED a top unit for another 4 seasons into the 00's and 00 was arguably their best season along with 98 season and I know FANGIO will end up with a top unit at some point,but I hope its not in a couple of yrs when they start losing some of these elite players on OFFENSE cuz Fins can NEVER,EVER have balance,one or the other but the nxt season and a hakf is their best chance!!

The problem ultimately was Johnson shouldn’t have kept Marino. No amount of supporting cast could ever make him better than he actually was (I’m so sick of fans trying to excuse fundamentally limited quarterbacks by pretending they weren’t doing less with more). Johnson should have tried to develop a better quarterback
