You just stepped into an enormous world, my friend 😂 If you decide to continue with beatbox reactions (which I highly encourage because the community and shear talent of performers are incredible) then you can use this as kind of like a guide to things concering GBB; The Grand Beatbox Battle, which will be brought up a ton through videos and comments going forward (again, if you decide to continue with beatbox reactions. If not, this huge comment is useless, but oh well :)) So the 2023 World Championship is this October, and the Wildcard Winners (I'll explain in a second) for each category (I'll explain this too 😂 I know, so much to take in, but it gets easier) were JUST announced this week. So, to start, Wildcards are what qualify you for competitions. So an event is scheduled (we'll use the Grand Beatbox Battle or 'GBB' for this example) and everyone knows the set date for said competition. Then, the organizers tell the world the Wildcard deadlines. Everyone in the world could send in a Wildcard, but obviously only a select few would get in. For this year, everyone sent in a Wildcard, 5 judges ranked them using a system that judges each respective persons aspects of their wildcard routine (so, you know, consistency, musicality, technicality, etc.) I'd say the judges probably ranked somewhere around 150 wildcards. Then, they take the top 25 (it was 27 this year because the score-counters made a couple mistakes) and have them submit a Round 2 Wildcard. They rank them, and take both rounds scores of each individual person, and place them highest to lowest. Top 11 Wildcards get into GBB along with the reigning World Champion (last GBB's Champion, Colaps, isn't competing this year), 2nd place at last GBB, 3rd place at last GBB, and people who have won OTHER battles this year, like BeatCity Japan, Maestro Beatbox America, etc. Now, as a recommendation for a near future reaction, I highly recommend you watch "Solo Qualified Wildcard Winners Announcement | GBB23: World League". This video shows every winning Wildcard's 1st and 2nd round in order (so the first Wildcard you'd see is Max's Round 1, in which he placed 10th, and then his Round 2, in which he placed 9th. They combined his scores, and he scored 11th out of everyone so he BARELY made it into GBB by one placement.) At GBB, it'll go somewhat like this. Each contestant would perform what is called an "Elimination." Since there are 21 total Solo contestants, 21 Eliminations would be done, then the judges will eliminate 5. Those people are DONE. The top 16 go into battles (I'm not 100% sure if its like '1st place goes against 16th place, 2nd vs 15th, and so on, or if its random) until we have a winner. Earlier I said the word "categories" which might be confusing. There are multiple categories that are competed in at GBB. Solo (just regular beatbox battles) Loopstation (hard to explain this, so I'll make it short; person makes a sound in a mic, they can loop, distort, mix, etc it and make a full routine. Its way more exciting than I make it seem 😂😂😂), Tag-Team (really just 2v2), etc. Each category has a separate winner of course (unless a looper wants to do solo which the previous reigning Loopstation Champion, Bizkit, submitted a solo wildcard, and if he placed top 11, he would've been in Loopstation AND Solo which would've been cool to see, but he didn't quite make it) Again, I very much encourage you to make more beatbox reactions, and am excited to see more! 😊

If you enjoy groups just going crazy I highly recommend the beatbox UK cypher. D-low is in it as well as a few others just going absolutely insane

He does do quite a few 15 to 20 minute sets and going full on dlow also has videos that are 15 to 20 minute freestyles and they are equally goodnif not better in some cases you actually see him learn new things as he is freestyling he is defo insane.Esh👊🔥👊

He certainly is in the top spot for the goat but so much talent out there its hard to put that title to one beatboxer but in many aspects he is the goat. Check out Dlow sketch (Alton) its a freestyle in most if not all parts well worth a watch. Also if you want a big injection into alot of amazing beatboxers then check out Dlow cyphers he has a uk cypher and a japan cypher both brain meltingly incredible.Esh👊🔥👊

Beatbox is not as messy as most people think. Not much spit comes out when beatboxing. Also a lot of beatbox sounds doesn’t require the use of vocals so he’s able to make a bass sound with his vocals and the beats with other parts of the mouth (lips, teeth, tongue, etc.) Same way beatboxers can sing and beatbox at the same time. Hope that makes sense.
