In this episode of my Honolulu Hawaii travel vlog, I'm taking you to the #1 BEST places to eat in Hawaii. I will show you where to eat and what to eat in Honolulu, starting with breakfast at ARVO Cafe for incredible local coffee. From there, we'll take a little break to visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial which is one of the best things to do in Honolulu, and after that, I'll take you to the best restaurant for fresh seafood in Hawaii, Merrimans, for delicious locally caught fish. After lunch, it's off to check out one of the best beaches in all of Hawaii, Kailua Beach, where I'll then take you to one of the best Tiki bars and steakhouses in Oahu, Buzz's Steakhouse. If you are looking for the ultimate Hawaiian food tour with a modern twist, this is it!

The HAWAIIAN ISLANDS 🏖🌋⛱🏝✈️ are my favorite vacation destinations. My whole family, including my three grandchildren, were supposed to go back there last summer. Hoping the pandemic will be over by next summer. ALOHA!

Thank you for traveling and helping Hawaii businesses during this pandemic. I think sooner or later we all need to learn how to live with this disease and not be in constant fear. Never in history did we isolate healthy people. If you're sick or have underlying conditions then it's best to stay home. If not continue to wash hands, disinfect, wear face mask and social distance.🤙 Great video!

difference in pronouncing Honolulu.. i.e. Honolulu vs. Hana one is with a 'O' and the other is with a 'A. It is pronounced hoe-know-lu-lu...' and it is Ka-la-cow-wa (Ave). know-ka-oye (means #1 !, the best !)

my god your pronunciation.... Kalakaua .... No ka Oi (means the best btw) you pronounced No ka ai??? You checked out only tourist spots. I was disappointed. Tourists should try a little harder to find the hidden gems.

I was stationed there twice Fort Shafter and on the Tripler Campus. You should eat at a little place called Lou’s next to 99 Ranch. They have the best prime sandwich. I like Egg and Things for breakfast.

The freshest fish in Honoulu you can find is Fresh Fish Market Harbor restaurants like Nikos pier 38 etc.... you just went to Haole tourist overpriced places. Did you try any poke? It’s heaven. Highly recommended.

Definitely overpriced, BUT, I have to say everything was overpriced...and touristy or not, it was delicious! Thanks for the recommendations, and yes, Poke was a an almost daily staple...you'll see it in future episodes!

I would say some staples that you should go to. Over easy has the best breakfast in Kailua Haleiwa Joes is pretty phenomenal with some great views North shore orange food truck has the best shrimp on the island.

Thanks for sharing your Hawaii adventure. We are leaving this coming Thursday from Casper >Denver >HNL. We are doing vault test on Monday. But lost of ppl saying that UPS is not delivering on time. Maybe we have to stay a night at Denver to do a rapid test. Any place you will recommend? We also traveling with a 6 years old . Thank you!

It is a pretty sorry Chinatown as far as Chinatowns go. But the homeless right there in that nice park are pretty cool people. Safeway is close by as well so you can get a good cheap plate meal there and chill watching some of the homeless fish off the small bridge.

Love Hawaii and I was really enjoying your videos, especially since we cannot do much traveling these days. HOWEVER... at 3:24 in the video... Kala koowa... Kala whatever??? Really? You took the time to travel all the way from Denver to Hawaii. You took the time to edit and publish this video to educate people about the place you have visted. Please take the 5 seconds it takes to learn to correctly pronounce the names of the places you're visiting. It's Kala-cow-wa.

Dale Carnegie once said, “A person's name is to that person, the sweetest, most important sound in any language.” Remembering names of customers, prospects, networking contacts, and colleagues is critical to your ongoing professional success. This applies 1000x more when it comes to the name of a street, city or other area of cultural significance. I'm not Hawaiian or from Hawaii, but I have been there many times and my guess is that those who are from Hawaii that are watched your video, cringed more than me when they saw that clip.

Kaaa la cow a is the correct pronunciation for Kalakaua Blvd. And L&L Barbeque is one of the best. They do have one here in Colorado in Aurora. Did you taste the difference between the Steak in Hawai'i versus the mainland? Hawai'i is so much better. It's fresh

The masks on the streets is a bit inaccurate. I just spent 12/8 to 12/14 there... you only have to have a mask on while around others outside your party or in businesses/buildings. We walked past MANY officers and not a word was said as long as you social distance. Aloha! Love the video!

I will tell you we were at a pull off along the coast on the way to Koko Head and we stopped to take some video of the coast and totally forgot to put our masks on, we were the only ones there and the police pulled over, we ran back to the car to grab our masks, they got out and gave us a warning and took our information for contact tracing. I’m glad you didn’t have the same experience as we did but even the hotel told us especially in Waikiki that you will get fined...and I did see people without masks too I just didn’t want to be THAT guy that got the fine, Hawaii is expensive enough lol

Dude, there are only 13 letters in the Hawaiian language (5 vowels, 7 consonants, and the okina). the pronunciation is easy because each letter only makes one sound, unlike English. Part of getting into the local culture should include making an effort to pronounce the words correctly (or close to). Just ask the locals before you say it on camera. They'll appreciate you making the effort.

Do the letters really make only one sound ? The Hawaiianguy (the comment above yours) pointed out that Kalakaua Ave is pronounced Ka-La-cow-wa Ave Then if there are 2 x K in the same word , the 2nd K would be C-cow and the A at the end becomes - wa. Would it be a similar situation with the letter W ? If there are 2 x W in the same word , does the 2nd W get pronounced wah or vah ? W - Waikiki , Wahiawa -Wa hee vah ? Let me know if this is correct. 🤙

@@RodSwansmad The k in Hawaiian only makes the /k/ sound. In English the c (in cow) makes a /k/ sound, but sometimes makes the /s/ sound (as in license). The a in Hawaiian makes a sound like ah. The u in Hawaiian makes a sound like ooh. The blended ah-ooh sound (dipthong) makes the sound like ow in cow. W is an exception - sometimes sounds like w, sometimes like v, but generally accepted as a w in day to day life. (I mean, locals would typically overlook mispronounced w without taking offence).

Hi friend. All the approved covid places in California say it’s $139 for the covid test. Is there a different test that Hawaii requires?

Hi if you go to a Walgreens it should be free, I got one recently I’m November and it was saying 139 too but I didn’t pay anything.

I'm guessing that's if you have no insurance. I work for an insurance company and we cover all COVID related tests/visits 100%. No out of pocket cost.

When you set up your appointment with WG did you enter that you don't have insurance? I don't think my insurance covers Walgreens so I don't want to enter my info then receive a bill later.

Correct then you don’t have insurance, I took the test 4 times and never was charged

@@chadd9748 yeah, we were never charged just always say "no insurance" and in the questions make sure you indicate that you are in a high area of covid, that way you qualify for the test...it's all in my guide on markfelice.com/blog

Question: Why would you go to Hawaii and keep eating in places to make you feel like you are home? You need to walk the local areas and go into small restaurants the locals go to and enjoy some of their food. You do have a soft voice and enjoy yourself so I give you five stars for that.

My son how had a standing room he rented in Hi. would go every other month on the North Beach side loved the beach and believe it or not 7-11 had his favorite cheap sushi made fresh daily sad to say he died the end of Sept. so I will be going there for the 1sr time to spread his ashes

Which test did you take at Walgreens? I heard you got it tested for no cost. I am sure NAAT approved test costs around $129. Rapid free test is not allowed you to enter Hawaii.

The avocado trend is hilarious. I have worked in food for decades and 10 years ago, we couldn't give avocado away for free. In fact, everyone asked to take it off of the 1 sandwich that we had it on. Finally had to take it off of the menu because we just threw it all away. No one wanted it. Now, it's "trendy" and everyone asks for it. LOL People are sheep. It's not even that good.

I hear you. I've worked in restaurants since the early 70's. Nobody asked for avocado. Just like when pomegranate was in fashion a few years ago.
