I love your physiological look at playing and studying and practicing, it really makes sense, even if some of your listeners like other teacher's better,by just adding/ using your philosophy it just puts it all together much better and you can learn much quicker... Thank you

Engraining paths....most intelligent, true, and proven ways to expand. You explained alot and put a lot of fragmented pieces together. Thank you sir. Creating new "go-to" licks and phrases is so important.

Such a perfect description, the city map. Its like , when someone is in the car with you, and you are talking. Sometimes you end up going the wrong way, because the car knows where it wants to go (lol). Its automatically driving to work, and you wanted to go to the store. The paths are ingrained.

You may also try to HEAR interval distance as a way to learn Music. Seeing is helpful but ultimately musicianship is about sound.

You are legend Claus. I thank every piece of advice from your videos here or your courses. It is incredible how some key elements are kept "secret" or hidden from a lot of instructors - reason (1) they will not talk about "that", will not unveil things completely. or reason (2) they are just not aware how they do certain things, they are "natural", thus they cannot communicate about something they don't exactly understand from a logic point of view. You fit neither category: you DO KNOW what you are talking about and you DO TALK about it. Thanks again for such vital information you keep bringing to us. I owe you a lot.

Thank you for all your KZfaq lessons. I am much older man. I have played guitar for several years. I consider myself on the low end on an intermediate player. But trying to learn your method. It seems like this is what I have been missing, along with my teeth and hearing. Thanks, you are great teacher.

I needed some confirmation on this idea. I hadn't put it into better words than your analogy of the city, which was on-point, but I had the same ambition of seeing the "maps" instantaneously, at least until I saw this video. Great video and thank you!

You're so right about "Every brain works similar to that way" because eventually every beginner ends up sliding in between different positions when they are practising vertical shapes. There is something convenient about that 2 - 3 position range. Not to mention not skipping 6 strings to play as much as a couple of intervals makes the melody sound more stable and palatable.

Learning scales on one String is the best way to start hearing how the intervals / Distance between two notes become almost instantly recognizable .. I move in all Directions .. I love to ascend a scale while my hand is decending from the Bridge towards the Nut .. It gets some puzzled looks on the Guitar players in the Audiece

You should learn to find your way around the fretboard by _playing songs_ where you have to find your way around the fretboard. The best way to learn everything IMO is if you have a _song_ for each thing where that thing is needed and used. Or at least a lick or melody, something you need to express. Maybe even a gig. That's how people learn all languages, and it should be how to learn the language of guitar playing. You repeat things you hear. Nobody learns to speak a language by practicing the alphabet, it makes no sense. And it makes no sense in music either, IMO.

This is advice that I only really acted upon about a year after starting guitar and it's helped absolutely massively. The analogy about learning languages by practicing the alphabet puts it well into perspective.
