I got my mid-band in the mail last week. I'm finishing up another project, and then I'll do the QMX! Thanks for sharing this video. It makes the build look doable 🙂

Nice! It’s a fun build. One mistake I made during the build was cutting one of the vertical toroid wires before measuring them installed on the board. That’s why it ended up a little crooked when installed. However, that’s purely aesthetic and hasn’t impacted the quality. Good luck!!

Very impressive that you finished that in one day. I might be able to to two days at this point, but it’s a stretch-only bc I have built 2 before. :)

Btw I kinda wish I had a MB QMX instead of my HB bc I think it appears to be slightly more optimized on receive sensitivity and TX power (an extra watt+), on average. But no biggie. :)

It’s probably a better idea to take some time with this build! Haha. One thing I forgot because I went so fast was to put the spacer under the right push button. I went back and did it. Enjoy the build process and the finished product. Hans is really innovating with this radio!

I've got a QMX sill in the box that I need the build. I have to finish building some cabinets for the wife first.

Happy wife happy life. QMX is a phenomenal little rig that’s what I used tonight in my activation. Video will be up later tonight maybe.

It’s normal and documented that prior to initial firmware flashing, the QMX display does not illuminate when powered up.

Yep, I realized that after!

So cool that it worked! Very scary to invest the time and money with failure possible... How many hours was your "1 Day" build?

It was very exciting! I used it in my last POTA activation video and made 55 QSOs! In total I think it was about 7-8 hours.
