In today's Jakarta vlog we are going to explore two interesting areas of the city. First, we will head to Kota Tua, which is the old town of Jakarta, Indonesia. After that we will visit the Chinatown Jakarta. Lots of interesting things to see here. I also ended up in a local neighborhood where I came across a very interesting bird business. I came across $1 Es Doger Street Food while exploring, so I had to give it a try!

Playing with birds is a hobby for pigeon lovers, they train male and female birds in pairs to be tame, sometimes bird racing is held, and its not a business, its just a kind of community. It seems there is a misunderstanding there, they think you want to buy the bird for 100 thousand rupiah for 2 birds, if it's just for playing you shouldn't have to pay.

16:40 it's expensive but maybe because you're alone, if you ride with few other persons the price will be the same i think 😅 21:46 quite expensive for a jersey, but then again different quality cost different price 29:25 he said "menghilangkan stress" means (plays with pigeon) to relieve stressed mind, they are practising/train for pigeon racing, if you want to buy the bird cost 100K, you don't have to buy, the money you gave them considered as a tips because you don't take the pigeon Great adventure Ken, you are so kind ☺

Ken, you had a miscommunication in the pigeon section. The 100k money he said was actually to buy a pair of the pigeon, male and female. When you asked about business for entertainment, he thought you want to buy the birds. That's why the man asked his friend how much the pigeon cost, and the owner said 100k a pair. So, 100k was to buy a pair of the pigeon.

Es doger = high price. usually IDR 5.000. delman ride = expensive because you are alone. Its still okay. Since you get experience to ride old traditonal ride Glasses = fair price. Since you are in Tourist attraction place. Local also get same price. Pigion = miss communication 😅 Indonesia jersey = i think still fair price. Depend the material. And maybe also because its old jersey not easy to found. You also can go to "Taman Mini Indonesia" in east jakarta. There is many show indonesia culture traditional house and traditional clothes.

Jersey tergantung bahannya, jika bahan yang biasa harganya bisa 50-70k tapi dengan bahan yang bagus harganya memang bisa lebih mahal 170-200

Es Doger is a drink consist of shaved ice, syrup, condensed milk, black sticky rice (ketan hitam), fermented casava (tape singkong), jellies, bread and sometimes coconut shreds. About the Jersey, depend on the quality but 170 is kinda expensive. Even if it is high quality i think 80-120 are decent price. You should go to PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk), PIK 2 and Aloha beach for the bigger and more beautiful Chinatown.

it's a race pigeon, ken. that's why they sell it in a couple. the one you hold is a female one, and the one get free fly is a male one. wherever the male get free, it will find the way to its female. the farthest i knew is 5km (maybe someone will correct me for this one)

Hello ken, I really enjoy your videos. I suggest you go to East Java Province, such as Surabaya City or Malang City. They have a different culture from Jakarta. And you can try foods like "Rawon, Soto, Lontong Balap, Tahu Campur, Sempol" or you can enjoy the sunrise from above the clouds on Mount Bromo

Its kind of pigeon race,and it is very popular in Indonesia. There are plenty of tournament with crazy money prizes. Its usually setup in more open spaces with a four tall poles where you do the “keplek”. Enjoy your stay here in Indonesia.

The birds guys thought you wanted to buy their birds, so it was cost 100k for a pair of male and female.. however you can consider the money as the tips for them to display how to play with pigeons . Their business is participating in pigeons race which usually comes with big prize money.. hope this explains a bit :)

A fun and interesting ride on that hop on hop off bus. That lady passenger is very helpful indeed, giving you information about the route to Kota Tua. Another good try with that Es Doger. Guess that pinky stuff in the bottle is banana flavouring syrup. Haha...it can at least quaint your thirst and l noticed there are lots of push cart vendors in Jakarta.

They were throwing birds as part of their hobby. So they throw the birds and then the birds fly back. When you offered the money, they thought you were trying to buy one. So basically they are doing their hobby while sometimes sell the birds.

So they sit there with their birds, doing their hobbies, playing pigeons, they raise and breed them too. It is also possible that they sell it usually at the bird market or fellow hobbyists, usually they release the bird from a considerable distance, and the bird will return to its partner. If you like places with natural nuances, I recommend you to go to Ciwidey or Pangalengan (part of Bandung Regency). There are many places with beautiful views there and much cooler than Jakarta.

They are playing and training pigeons, by luring male pigeons to come to the female pigeon that you are holding, usually they also prepare them for competitions. They think you will buy birds, so they price 2 pairs of birds for 100K, actually not to try the experience of playing with pigeons like you mean I think if you want to try the experience of playing pigeons it should be free, you just need to ask permission from the bird owner, but there was a misunderstanding, because no one can speak English well But I think experience is more than anything even if you have to pay for it 😅

I think its expensive football shirt, you can get 120-140 for jersey KW. For the birds, they are playing with the pidgeon and they are selling the birds too for following birds tournament

These people raise pigeons for hobby. They train pigeons to fly faster and could return to their owner although they has flown far away. There are some communities that held "Balapan Merpati" (pigeon racing competitions) with various prizes too. Very unique isn't it? 😅

LOL it was a misunderstanding, the man thought you wanted to buy the bird, so he asked for the price and the owner said it costs 100k for a pair, if you just wanted to play with them you didn't have to pay for anything, it's for free 😆🤣 So the pigeons are for race, the winner would get some money, the owners would hold the females while the males would be released from a certain starting point, whichever comes to the female first is the winner. This race is kinda popular here in Indonesia 😁
