I can tell you this we dance very differently we dance too faster music and we combine the skirt with the hands with the feet at the same time and the arms everything has to move simultaneously I like the way you move your skirt.

0:15 I love how you say that like a lady can just pop down to her local Primark and pick one up 😄 I bought one of these online for my gf a week or two ago, I just thought it was very pretty, I had no idea about any of this aside from Flamenco, and the skirts used in that are nowhere near as glorious. what a rabbit hole i've fallen down! Shame I didn't find out about all this while I still had some suppleness in my joints, because I definitely would have gotten involved. Anyway, subscribed. I'm very interested to see what's next for you 😉

To be honest with you if Gypsy dancing did not have the skirt it would not have anything because realistically there are no moves well at least not complicated moves it's just very simple basic steps not unless you get fancy with your feet and hands I do a lot of footwork in my dancing and a lot of sound comes from the heels of my shoes. We call it something like singing with your feet...

It depends on what Gypsy style you mean. I do Russian Gypsy dance style, it is quite developed and complicated with intricate rhythms and footwork. Skirt is just a decoration of the dance.

@@gypsydanceuk And what a decoration it is 😍 The mens' dance looks and sounds impressive, but let's be honest, it's pretty lackluster in comparison 😞 Couldn't the Romani men of yesteryear have worn capes or something 😁
