This is not a song, this is a recording of me playing live for 1 hour, improvising on the spot. So if you hear little mistakes or pauses etc., that's because I had zero plan of what I will play and everything you hear is invented in the second that I play the note.^^
I do this often, but I never show it because I usually do it just to gather new ideas for future music but I thought I might as well let you hear one of those sessions.^^ I will probably use bits and pieces of melodies in here for songs in the future, oh and I also played some of my old melodies from my most known songs, just as a little Easter Egg for those of you who know my music really well, I thought it would be fun.^^
I'm super anxious to play live, so this is probably the closest to a live performance we'll ever get out of me. xD But I might do videos like this again sometime if you enjoy it, just let me know.
All music composed and arranged by Adrian von Ziegler.
The artwork was created by my amazing wife Aelathên.

@Adrian von Ziegler Hey Adrian, what midi keyboard do you use to play / record sessions like you did with this video?
@AdrianvonZiegler

It's a KORG keyboard but the sound of the harp you hear is the Concert Harp from EWQL Goliath. I connect the keyboard via USB to the PC and can use the instruments from EWQL instead of the internal soundpools of the keyboard itself.

I just adopted a cat and she's been hiding under the bed because she's so scared and anxious, so I looked at her adoption papers to see if there's anything I can do to help her transition into her new home. It said she likes harp music and nature sounds, so I played this and she immediately perked up and is now out and about in her new home. Thank you so much for this! It sounds lovely and helps calm my new cat down when she's scared 😊

Must of had a previous owner who played harp or something. I use to have a cat who felt comfortable around children and the noisy ruffling sounds they make as they play because she grew up around a preschool where the kids will always play with her.

Dear Adrian, today I must put to sleep my beloved soulmate- dog *Piwi*🐕. In his last days, he was very ill and we spent our afternoons often on the couch with your music. He always got relaxed, when he heard this harp-melody. Today, in his last hours, we played also this music for him, with candlelight. I'm shure - it was helping him, to find his way across the rainbowbridge 🌈 without fear. Now, I'm sitting here beside his body , his soul is gone, and your music is still playing. And.. I feel peace. Thank you Adrian, this harp-melodie will be for me - now and forever "Piwis-Theme" 🐕🌈💙

Dear Adrian I lost my best friend May 1st. He introduced me to your music. He was all things celtic. As I set and visit his resting place I play your music as we spent many hours over last 10 years visiting with your music in background. It is a comfort to me now. Your OTHERWORLD came out in May AJ passed May 1st. The art is so significant to me. I found a walking stick or staff the morning of his transition by my car at the park I walk every morning. It was 6ft long had an end that was cut and all branches had been cut. AJ nicknamed me Merlin because when I made him coffee it was such an ordeal. AJ was wheelchair bound since 90s. He was a real gamer an ex marine and only 50 when he got out of his wheelchair. I believe that staff showed up to let me know in the Otherworld he was walking. In the art work the figure reminds me of Him. He dressed in black his Right hand hung at his side always closed as he couldnt use it. This may sound like a bummer but you have no idea how much listening to your creations heals my heart. Peace and Thank You

I read some of the dead sea scrolls about Jesus and he made and played a harp I read, soo when I hear this beautiful music, I think of him and I am at peace, peace is what the world needs and I will pray while I listen, I have been looking for harp music for a while, it is one instrument that can be played by its self and it sounds great like it has a language all by its self as it is a good spirit, I'm American Indian, indigenous people, from the Choctaw tribe, we play flutes and they are beautiful too. Keep it up, I love this.

is Irish really Celtic? I thought the Celts were an ancient people somewhere in Europe called the Keltoi by the Greeks, and the people of the British Isles were Britonnic, hence Brittania, and Irish, I cannot say, were the High Irish Kings even real? people in history often loved to dream up magnificent histories that were false, but believed for so many centuries that their falsehood was eventually forgotton about

Been playing this a lot lately for my first baby, Finn, who has been in the hospital all 7 weeks of his life so far. It's very comforting and calming for us both, and perfect to have playing while I read to him from a book about the Irish hero, Finn McCool, after whom he's named. Been enjoying von Ziegler's music for several years, so happy to be sharing it with my son now and will continue to play more for him when he's home! Will be perfect in his dragon/forest/fairy tale/Tolkien-themed nursery.

this took me to a place i’ve never been; a place very green, lush. the chill of the morning air melting away as the sun starts to filter through the trees. every branch rustles in the wind, every bird chirps as they play. she approaches, smile broad as the night sky, ready to run. she takes my hand and guides me through the trees that we were both familiar with; the trees of our home. sticks crack below us as we jump across small streams, landing on the balls of our feet and bouncing right off of them again. our laughter prompts the birds to sing louder and leaves to rustle more in attempt to be equal to us. she guides me to her garden, where we pick spring flowers until the sun beats on our shoulders. she plucks a petunia and places it, as delicate as a feather, into my braided back hair. i grin and grab across to pick a violet. i stroke her knitted back hair, searching for the perfect spot for the flower. her eyes are peeking up at me from underneath her eyelashes. i secure the flower into its spot and return my gaze to her. she smiles and turns to the woods, becoming me to join her in the labyrinth that is our home.

Thank you for having the courage to bring your best to the world, brother.

As the strings of the harp gently move, They create a sound Sound to heal my broken soul. A resonating sound. The strings of my heart, With each beat, follow the rythim As they always should. Healing what's been broken, For far too long.

My partner has been watching TV this evening whilst I've been sat with headphones listening to this whilst crocheting. Hard to believe that this was purely spur of the moment, it sounds like something you've played many times and are confident with. It's so calm and relaxing, something in very short supply in these trying times. Thankyou for sharing your wonderful gift with us again xXx

I closed my eyes whilst warm in bed at night, and id forgotten how much i like Harp music. I imagjned i was near edge of a lake in a forest, after rain, it smelt fresh, i had a harpist nearby as i laid on a comfy bed enjoying forest smells and scenery sound of your harp. Bless you. From England uk.

Thank you, Adrian for the whole collection of your music. I always come back here, for my soul, to think about the things that are really important to me and the beautiful things that exist in this world, the birds, flowers, the little creatures, many do not like these simple things that we are surrounded by. since I discovered Celtic music, and also you Adrian, I have rediscovered myself and I am a better person and I love everything around me, through your music I have discovered to find the beautiful in the ugly. I can't wait to show my children your music and tell them my stories.

Some things never truly fade away, ya know? The sentiment that echoes a time of eld still illuminating presently is akin to the sentiment I felt when writing this poem for anyone interested in reading: He comes from a time long ago, When the fairies sung in the forest, Satyrs and dwarves dancing together, Overseeing the land as the horned protector Many have forgotten his name, Whether it had been slandered by those who sought to make many forget, As fear was struck into their hearts, A once revered warrior of the land was seen as their enemy Yet even though he spent many years in isolation, Deep within the dark recesses of the earth, Not all had forgotten his name, For there was a fellow raven who saw all with her own eyes She came to his cave, Recognizing the ill growth that had grown on him, She sought to cleanse and purify him as she helped him let go, Her love freeing him from the shackles of eld When he gazed at her, He could see himself, The shadow part of him that never truly left him, Always there for him No matter how many centuries had passed, Her love towards him was unwavering, For he was the constant that she saw when all else faded around her, Just as she was the constant for him No matter how many millennia pass, Spring and Fall always interchangeably cycle consistently, As well as the bright sunny sky and the dark starry raven night sky, As life & death sing forth endings and new beginnings No matter how many eras pass, These forces are inseparable, Just like light and shadow, Merging together to bring forth illumination, balance, and wholeness

💕Thank you for this beautifully relaxing music. It transported me to a favourite place in the woods in Huelgoat , Brittany with a canopy of trees around me and the birds singing. I was once lucky enough to walk through there, and down near the stream, which runs through huge boulders of rock, was a harpist playing his music. It moved me to tears. I have since then bought a harp and am enjoying learning how to play it. Your music has inspired me to make an effort to learn to improvise and practice more. Thank you again. 💕
