Y’all, let’s take a step back and realize how far Fortnite has come. It truly is sad to see a beautiful game that we all wanted to live forever become corrupted into a rage and competive machines. The OG Fortnite vibe is gone. Competitive has ruined the game. 9 year olds haven’t but there thirst for wanting to be a World Cup champion has. 2017 December 22 On this day I get to school and go with all of my friends. All they talked about was Fortnite, I new the game I just didn’t have it. Around midday at lunch time we all where talking about which was the best gun to use in season 1. Almost Everyone chose gold scar, but some had other choices. My friends had convinced me to get it. So then, I got home and downloaded straight away. I remember the first thing I did was I looked at everything in the lobby to try and see what the game was like. I loaded up a solo game, and I never felt so relaxed in the spawn island, people where just running and jumping around like they didn’t know what to do. I got my first kill, I was so happy. So happy I didn’t focus on the game and I got killed. But then after that game… The rest is history Thank u fortnite for the amazing memories that you gave all of us 😢

I joined in chapter 2 season 2 (so I'm no og or have I ever heard this in the fortnite lobby) but I can still remember the kids at my school in the past years getting excited for fortnite in 2017, 2018, and 2019. I never got to see those kids again once 2020 hit, the memories of my childhood…

A time before where it didn’t matter when you joined the game what battlepasses you had or how much money you spent on the game. It was just a time where there was fun and memories to be made and friends to gain. I miss that time, I joined in season two and left in season 5. But came back recently to find a whole new game not like the one I played before but still fun in its own way and yet I don’t think it will ever be like how it was. And with ch4 just starting I feel as if this game is going in the right direction but as much as I miss the old fortnite the game has to grow and change as so do I so whether you played in 2017 or are just starting now there are always memories to be made in this game and I hope everyone makes theirs.

Back when fortnite wasn’t filled with tryhards, sweats, toxic players, little 9 yr olds yelling, collab skins. And only remember dying at the edge of the map, no swimming, sprinting, climbing or mantling, sliding, carrying teammates, perks, just a regular battle royal game that lots of people actually enjoyed.

2020 anyone?

This reminds me of when I was 12-13, and it was 31st December 2018 (New Years Eve), and I was streaming my match on Twitch (which I've no longer access to, so I can't rewatch it :< ) and I was wearing the 'Spider Knight' skin I think its called, the male one. It was 11:55pm so I tried one last time to win on new years. And I did, I had 17 kills that day, and it struck 12am, 1st January 2019. I screamed with excitement and my dad looked so glad for me. Then I spent the rest of that night with my family, eating our party food we made for new years (pigs in blankets, sausage rolls, sandwiches, juice, bourbons, etc). That was the most coolest moment i felt then. The next day was normal, just playing and checking the New Year's glider and back bling (I think there was a back bling idk, I cant check rn) and using that in-game for the next few weeks. Epic Games, please bring back the original Fortnite from 2017-2019, or at least make a mode in Fortnite, where we can either play in the old seasons with the original settings/controls or at least look at them like a museum way. I really miss the OG days, especially Chapter 1 Season 4 to Chapter 1 Season X/10. Fortnite, may you rest in our hearts with all the memories that you created us. 💙

Not gonna lie found this masterpiece almost 4 years ago and i still listen to it almost every night. Its not even reminding me of Fortnite anymore its just a nice and relaxing sound. Idk how to describe it its just a something of nostalgia and confort that make this so so so SO SO good. I love it really. Im not a Fortnite fanboy or anything even close i dont even play the game anymore but back in the days it was good. And thats when i found this. Loving it ever since. No words can express how I loved this game so much. the nostalgia just hit differently. People just playing for fun and casually enjoying the game. I can't bear to see the game I loved the most getting trash as time goes by. Way back at season 0 to 5 with the good lobby music and being a default trying to win your first game. After winning your first game you get so nervous and hype at the same time after school you just hop on to the game and enjoy the rest of your day. It's raining and some of the boys are online trying to win squads despite getting shit on many many times. All the overnight just to play the game and not sleeping till morning comes. Fortnite will always have a spot on my heart that no game will ever fill.

You present an idea you found on KZfaq, where you farm materials and build high up in the sky so no one finds you and your friends love it. As you lurk atop of the map with your squad you ask the question, "Do you think we'll ever get tired of this game?" your friends laugh and you feel a little embarrassed, "Of course not!" you chuckle and everyone realizes it's a 4v4. One of your friends drops everyone medkits and slurpjuice for the heal off. Everyone gets stuck in storm and start healing, one of your friends get knocked but then suddenly you hear a noise and text shows up on your screen... "#1 Victory Royale!" Your friends cheer with you and laugh. Everyone says their goodbyes and you close out of Fortnite. You take a deep breath and head to you bed, tuck yourself in and you hold your blankets tight to keep yourself warm. You hear your front door open and your parents talking. it's a normal day of christmas 2017. you hop on with some friends to play this new game you heard of called "Fortnite". You think to yourself, "who would make a game based off two weeks?". But that aside you get on and are instantly greeted by the blue, hexagonal background, with letters spelling out "Fortnite". You log on with some friends and in the lobby menu see a candy cane and a hut. You play this calm and soothing, yet somewhat nostalgic music playing, nevertheless, you play your first match. You drop at Dusty Depot and grab a grey pump-shotgun. You spot a competitor going for a golden, glowing treasure chest. You race to stop him. Boom. 121. Knocked Down Enemy. You got your first kill. Your friends congratulate you as one of them is sniped in the head. You all laugh. Someone goes and revived him, and they build a wall. "Wow, these building mechanics are awesome!". These words to be regretted in the near future. You try to track down your sniping adversary, but he's nowhere to be seen. You exit Dusty Depot and find some industrial buildings, factories. "This place has got some good loot!" you think to yourself. A little bit later you are in the final 8. Your squad against theirs. A battle to the death. One friend uses some buildings to gain an advantage. You use a rocket launcher. One friend goes down, then another, then another. It's you against them. You got it. You pull out a tactical smg to spray n' pray. You end up dying. Everyone laughs and seems to be enjoying themselves. "Another game" says a friend. You all agree. The next second you blink, and it's Chapter 2, Season 4 and you can't land without someone building a 5 story apartment complex. All of your friends are offline with a message displaying "Last Online 3 Years Ago". You think to yourself, "Man, what happened?".

The good old days. I miss old fortnite. A little story for nostalgic vibes: Its 2018 near Christmas time, your scrolling through the Nintendo eshop and find a game called fortnite. Your intrigued as you've heard of it from your friends and download it. You play for a few day and earn lots of new friends, you figure out dusty depot is your favorite place to land and that you love the skin "lynx". After a month you have figured out the game and start to play it alot more. You start to play alot of squads fill and playground, you meet so many people until, it finally happened, you got your first ever victory, you scream in excitement as your team mates laugh and scream with you too. 2 years pass... It's been a long time from when you began, you barely play the main game anymore and stick to creative. Even there you can't find peace. Your friends have all stopped playing, your best friend was on a year ago. You wonder if they'll ever get back on. Everything was so boring now, even a victory can't cheer you up. Now your finding new games to play instead of fortnite. Soon, it slowly starts to fade away from your mind, never to be played again.

I feel like the old feel will never come back. I remember being absolutely shaking and terrified like I was never before when there was 2 people left. I miss watching hours worth of how to win videos. The noise the game makes when the storm closes gives me so much nostalgia. I miss the good old days when I was learning how to play and was seriously addicted and couldn’t put the game down. When I got my first win I was screaming and freaking out so much my grandparents thought I was having a heart attack. Amazing game.

Having fun and playing with your friends, the weapons, the game, falling into your favorite city, in my case it was dusty depot that was legendary it was great, falling on the map and being nervous and campaigning until you win, Then Christmas comes to Fortnite and the gifts are the best, the happiness EVERYTHING WAS VERY GOOD, that Fortnite was entertaining, it was the best and I will always remember it as something that marked my childhood for the better.Thank you Epic, Thank you Fortnite, for everything, for the happiness and for everything you gave us. POV: It’s November 2017. You just got out of school on a Friday. You and your 3 best friends plan on playing Fortnite all night long. It begins to rain with intervals of thunder. You play for hours but only get 5 wins with your squad. Everyone goes to sleep until you’re the last one in the lobby. The nostalgic sound of the theme song and the soothing ambience of a rainstorm outside fills your ears. The eager excitement to wake up the following morning and play some more games with your friends runs through your brain. You finally drift off happily and knowingly that you had fun playing and getting 5 wins with your friends. Life is good.

I’m getting season 2 flash backs just listening to this

There are tons of games that make me feel nostalgic, like Minecraft. Ive been playing Minecraft since 2012, hearing the music makes me cry. Minecraft music hits home so hard. But this, this is different. Yeah, it wasn’t too long ago when i started playing fortnite season 2 back in late 2017, but this makes me feel a different nostalgia. The fact that Fortnite changed so drastically over the years makes me long even more to come back to the moments in 2017 again. Hopping on with my friends after school, christmas break, playing all night. Not a worry in the world. Being to scared and hiding in a box instead of going out and shooting people, fearing you’ll die. Easily remembering all of the places on the map, knowing all of the secrets each place holds. When everyone had the same skill level. When Tilted Towers was the hotspot for kills. When you’d flex a gold scar. When everyone sucked at the game. When you’d laugh about someone walking into your trap. When you first rocket-rided your friend. When you’d panick when you start hearing the storm closing in. When we were just building to build, just spamming buttons. When 90’s weren’t a thing. When you got your first Victory Royale. When you get online and all your friends are on. When you would fall asleep in the lobby hearing the amazing nostalgic music that was annoying until u realize how nostalgic it is. This game really gave me the best times i’ve ever had playing video games. The game was so incredibly fun because no one was good at the game and you would just screw around. Fortnite really has a special place in my heart. This game has given me the best times in my time playing video games. I remember when i got my first skin, Carbide. Best moment of my life. Imagine this: you wake up and it’s a day off/snow day. You instantly grab your phone and text your squad asking if they wanna hop on and play some Fortnite. Since the game was so fun, it wasn’t even a question so everybody got on and you played squads all day long. On your last game of the day, it’s a 1v1 and you’re chilling in your 10x10 base and you’re the only teammate alive. The opponent runs up to you and you double pump him to win the game. You all scream in excitement as you all finally just got your first win. Sound familiar?

2024: I'm 19 and still listen to this from time to time. I may not be rich with money, but I am rich with the memories I made in the game and with music deeply rooted within me :)

POV: It wasn't a Item Shop, no Battle Pass, no sweats, no crossovers, nothing. It was just you. You against the other 99 People in the game. You're landing at Retail Row, you instantly get killed because of the amount of people who landed there. You just.. laugh it off... you weren't mad you got killed. You return to lobby, you get back in a game. This time, you land Moisty Mire. You see someone, you get real scared because you saw they had a winners umbrella while landing. All you have is a gray pistol, but you see he has a pump. So, you slowly build a wall, and then you start shooting him. He shot back, not building instant 90s. He hit you for 89 Damage, but you finish him off with the pistol. Your whole body is sweating, amazed at what you've done. You pick up his Med Kit, take it, along with the rest of his loot, and go along with your game. You then check circle, just to see the Storm is riding up on you, you say "man, i wish vehicles were in the game". But anyway, you manage to outrun the storm with only 56 Health left. Then, someone snipes at you. You start jumping around like an absolute maniac because you forgot you could build. You see the guy who sniped at you, and you chuck some grenades at him hoping one would hit him. Well, one did hit him in fact. He tries to med up, but then you kill him with your gray Assault Rifle. Then, you look at how many people are left, you see only 5 are left. *[Someone died from fall damage]* *[Someone was lost in storm]* *[Someone got killed by someone else with a shotgun]* You look up, see it is a 1v1, oh boy! You see the person you are going up against, building one big base slowly. You begin to shoot at him. He tries to build a wall to block the bullets. You shoot throuh it easy. You shot him with the scar so many times! He has only 20 health left. So then, you get your shotgun out, go in for the shot. Your player stops moving after the shot was taken. *[VICTORY ROYALE]*

makes me wanna cry, just the tone. the symphony of this song brings back many memories when i would drop at salty springs at that tall mountain thing, i would go to salty and just chill in a house. life was a more simple time. my first ever win was at salty, i was at that mountain almost the whole time haha, i was so happy when i got that first win, now wins aren’t that important to me. i miss the good ol’ days.

Epic just doesnt understand that THIS is what we want, not just unvaulting the pump, not just bringing back tilted towers, we want what we had back in 2017-18. This right here is the Fortnite people want to play. Adding in all the old stuff individually and repeatedly swapping in and out and creating these new maps with new features just is steps in the right direction and then back the other way. Just bring us back to the good fortnite.

Well I speak Spanish so if I'm wrong don't judge me please. I miss the old Fortnite, the fun moments with friends, when people enjoyed the game and everything was more fun, when you did not have to fall with a person who had skin or who had a delta wing that is not the default. Now if you face an enemy, he makes you a construction mansion. I miss playing the real Fortnite, the Fortnite that everyone loves, the old map, the weapons of Chapter 1, the community, the events, Kevin, The Rift, The Rocket, The Visitor ... Now all that lives in our hearts and thoughts, but hopefully, that we can feel that feeling of winning your first game again, of the heart attacks that the games gave us. I just want the real Fortnite back. I still miss when all my friends played Fortnite, when we played Playground for fun, when if they killed you, you and your friends laughed. Many of my friends stopped playing Fortnite and I understand them, it is hard having to endure the tryhards that build you a castle, but still, I miss them, I miss having good times, I miss laughing, I miss enjoying the Game ... I miss Fortnite

I am very glad that the community misses and wants chapter 1 back, myself included, and it actually wasent just nostalgia either. Fortnite chapter 1 was an example of what gaming should be. Fun, inventive, creative, interactive, and truly beautiful. However, I think people are WAY too hard on the other chapters. Because if chapter 1 didn't exist, I think that people still would have thought " wow, this is a great game." Chapter 2 season 2 was actually perfect. And every other season isn't bad at all. In fact, it's kind of exceptional. I miss chapter 1 as much as you do, but maybe give the game a chance again. Look beyond the sweats, and I think you'll find a game that is incredibly fun, and....well, like fortnite.
