Hi There, I have an open top planted aquarium like yours with a similar water level but I seem to have many of my fish jump out, from angel fish to various tetras.... I hate to come home to a dead fish on the floor, especially an angel. Im hoping to go to discus shortly but am scared they will jump too... can you tell me how you stop your fish jumping out?? - Cheers Peet

Great tank, but the ringing noise in the background is not very relaxing ;)

The camera exposure seemed having a problem: consider using a reflector to bounce some light to the dark shadow areas. Color, mainly green, was a bit over saturated. Overall contrast was too much to enjoy. For aquascaping, suggest avoid using regular java ferns as background, they have hard edge leaves. Add some Bolbitis heudelotii to soften overall greens; Add some "trident" for fun; Add rotala green as part of background. I did't see any fun of red AR here. They are distracting. Amano and his followers had repeated millions of times about this style and you can learn a lot of details of the rationale about this style from the ADAViews videos. I personally don't like symmetry unless you want the viewers to focus the ugly java moss ball in the middle of the background. I prefer glass pipes other than stainless steel ones.

Nice but conventional and like a million other Amano knockoffs. It's been about 20 years of Amano style and I'm waiting for somebody to think outside the box once again. Something more dramatic with more diversity and color. I think the whole world of emergent plants with roots that can grow in the tanks is virtually ignored. With new lights that don't sit right on top of the Aquarium..dwarf Aroids,sedges,grasses,flowering tropicals..all could go with the underwater greenery. With those LED lights intensity..the world is open to aquarists beyond Java fern,Bolbitis and Anubias and mosses.
