Dang, this is awesome content! I'm from Puyallup so it is nice to see them play. It is also nice to see Mason Pike on the mound due to coverage about him, at least locally. However, growing up in the PNW baseball system, the game is completely different outside of this state. Teams from California, Texas, and Florida that have massive schools, player development programs, and year round baseball at high levels that keep students developing at a massive pace truly outshine our state's best. I was a top prospect for Baseball Northwest as a pitcher for my class and got to play and pitch against many great teams. By far the best teams I've had to face come from those regions. I remember facing a team from Jacksonville, Florida and my first batter was some 5 foot kid who I didn't take seriously at all. Dude pulls a fastball to the wall on the first pitch and from that moment I knew I was in for a hand full. These teams with year round development have great plate discipline, a well polished eye, and a fundamental swing that has been taught to them through various camps. In Washington, I just do not see that rich of player development. I may be completely wrong, but growing up as a top prospect, there wasn't many options. It was pay a ton be on a select team and travel to play a few tournaments, then continue to do that, or spend thousands on camps to even have the chance to be looked at in a professional way.
