Most often yes, call orthostatic hypotension. However, there are other causes so if it’s happened frequently should always confirm correct diagnosis with medical professional is it happening often?

I completely relate passing out while your first born is coming into the world. I became a father very young. I slightly remember hearing "there he goes...." and thinking that I'm floating. The nurse saw it and caught me on the way down. I've never passed out prior and haven't since. 😂 Good times... "emotional."

Awww that’s so wholesome and cute!!! I birthed my twins at a REALLY young age as well (14yrs and 5 months EXACTLY) and although it took three years for myself and my husband to become a family (their biological father was a kidnapping abusive predatory pedophile who THANKFULLY I was rescued from and was sent to prison after he broke all the bones in the left side of my face, and arm, and damaged my eye so severely that I have a glass one now, less than a month before going into labor because I was able to run to a neighbor who called the cops and took me to the hospital) he treats and loves them unconditionally and he passed out cold for the first time in his life, despite having been a marine for ten years when Halo had to have her knee relocated 😢❤ It’s so sweet and wholesome how visceral and clear it is that some of y’all Daddies love your babies SOOO MUCH that this happens 🥹🥲😭🥰❤ may god bless you and yours, they’re lucky to have a Dad that loves and cares that much for them!

I was in hs & making posters for poms on my basement floor. I was probably on my knees drawing & coloring for over an hour. When I stood up I passed out. When I came to, my parents were standing over me (they were upstairs nowhere near where I was). They heard my head hit the water heater😂I've learned I have a VERY hard head!!!

@@BoneDoctor_KZfaqI have eds and pots. Increase salt intake and lots of fluids (ones with electrolytes and salts are most beneficial). IV fluids for bad episodes.(usually csl not normal saline) Always be slow from lying to sitting, sitting to standing and before you move. If you start to feel dizzy then sit down or lie down so if you do pass out it will prevent injury. (I've passed out so many times I can tell when I need to sit or when I need to lie down now. Sometimes just lying down with feet up can help avert a pass out. Heat and humidity are huge triggers so cold cloths/ice packs especially on the back on the neck and aircon and keeping as cool as you can in warmer months. Medications can be beneficial. Fludracortisone/midodrine and even dexamphetamine for more harder cases. But for surgery definitely fluids lots and lots of fluids! Even post op. I've had met calls early on after surgeries with blacking out and losing my BP. 🥴 And definitely being cautious when you first start getting the patient up. Yes even to the toilet as I've passed out from that 🤦 I've had 37 surgeries now (lots of ortho procedures) and pots definitely flares up with most surgeries. But with lots of fluids and better management I haven't had a met call from collapsing in a couple of years 🤣 eds and connective tissue disorders are highly correlated with pots and other conditions that with better management during surgeries makes it a much smoother and safer process. Hope this helps? 🙂

I almost passed out after walking from my school back to my house when i havent eaten or drank anything all day. I was so tired so I went to go buy something to drink then my vision started going dark, i feel VERY warm and dizzy, and i feel nauseous. THANK GOODNESS I DIDNT PASSED OUT then I just sat there on the street till i felt better and went home. I almost lost my "havent fainted once in my life" streak hehe:P

I suffer from hypoglycemic attacks and have done since about the age of 3, one of the earliest I can really remember when I didn't make it in time was when I was about 8 and sitting in the bank with my parents. They were talking then I heard someone say "she's passing out", the next thing I knew everything was white with a black stripe down the middle. The assistant who was putting me on the recovery position had a white shirt on and a black tie lol, kinda trippy to come back to lol Another time I was going to get a juice box out of the fridge, then all of a sudden I was lying on my back and the fridge was beeping

I pass out every now and then drs cant find anything. Some times go nearly a year between episodes other times its couple times a week to weekly. Wish it was somewhat predictable. Sometimes from high heart rate, overheated, low bloodsugar, or from nothing in particular.

Everyone's a little different. My VVS has two known triggers, one of which is intravenous line insertion and the other is extremely spicy food (like scotch bonnet level). In both cases they're not emotional but physical reflexes that cause a paradoxical vasodilation. It can also cause asystole. A lot of doctors and nurses assume it's emotional and that I can just "stay calm through it"- I explain to them that it's a physical reflex, that I should be laid down flat so I don't fall if I pass out, that I have countermeasures and what they will look like (crossing legs over each other and bringing my knees to my chest, locking fingers together and pulling my hands against each other), and that they need to check my pulse if I go down because my heart may have stopped and I may require resuscitation. It's unfortunate, it's a very misunderstood disorder of the vagus nerve that many medical practitioners still consider an anxiety disorder, with all of the mental health stigma that brings with it.

I remember when my boy was born, I almost passed out/fainted. While she was in labor, she asked me to go and grab some ice, came back into the room, and saw what was going on, the nurse looked at me and said oh God we have a fainter. Later on I found out the nurse and doc placed a bet on me if I passed out or not

What about near passing out but not losing consciousness?? That happened to me several within 1 yr. Horrible weakness, full body sweating, very hot. I lay where I am/floor & in about 30 min get my energy back. Had ankle surgery, metal put me back together, injury. Did fine, zero pain. Friend kept telling me to take a prescribed pill-opioid I guess. Finally did, went to bed. Got up next morning, in the bathroom, fell backwards into the tub. Wasn’t hurt & struggled out. I flushed those pills into the septic tank. After the initial pain/break, never had any more pain.
