1 Kings 2:1-4 says: Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying, 2 I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man; 3 And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself: 4 That the Lord may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel. Now this message is based upon real manhood and will show you what a "good real man" according to the word of God supposed to look like. Now notice how David charged his son Solomon to show or prove or act like a man but David not only charge his son to be a man but showed him in accordance to the word of God how he was to perform real manhood listed already above in verse 3. However king Solomon didn't become a real man until after he had an experience with God through prayer. For 2Chronicles 1:11-12 says: God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. Fast forwarding to Apostle Paul In 1 Corinthians 13:11 when he said: When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. Now the day Apostle Paul became a real man is the day he met Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus was what Apostle Paul was referring to in the book of Acts 9:1-9. Although God shows us how to become real men, God also sho ws us how to become a "real good man" according to Proverbs 13:22 as reads: A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. In other words, a good man must have a business plan that exceeds 200 years because his children and grandchildren may live to see 100 years. In other words, God doesn't praise men who have children but He brings them under indictment. This is the word for today. This however is how you measure all men and women in accordance to what the word of God says, not according to what people say in gossip. Genesis 2:17 “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” The tree of the knowledge of good and evil represented the world of satan who is the god of this world. When Adam ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he died from manhood. For the tree of life represented God or Christ. This is why Jesus said to Nicodemus who came to Jesus by night: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3 In other words, a man cannot see manhood until he is born again of the Spirit of God literally. John 3:5 says: Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The water represents a natural birth through a woman but the Spirit represents a supernatural birth through God or Christ Jesus. Notice how Jesus said to Nicodemus the time in John 3:3 that he cannot see the kingdom of God but in John 3:5 Jesus told Nicodemus that he can not enter the kingdom of God which is to say enter manhood. So how can you make the difference between men and boys. Simply put, a man see with His Spirit which is the Spirit of God.
