The game mechanics are borked. At least during the initial stages of battle, when the brits fired volleys, several shooters would aim at the same opponent. And only the front row of soldiers would fire. Then they'd go down on one knee and start reloading while the second row moved up to fire their volley. This 'simulator' have the brits firing individually, and soldiers further back is also firing. In short, the first volley should NOT have taken out as many US Army troops as it did, and before the second volley, a lot of the troops would have dropped to the ground and taken up firing positions.

Would it be though? WW2 rifles beat muskets in everything. There is no reason to go up that close if you can just sit further out and pick the enemy off because they should have far greater range and accuracy.

I know that this is a game and balance is needed for it to work, but there is no way that muskets would have better range than shotguns. And they are nowhere near as accurate either.

Yeah no. Volley Fire isn’t very effective

yeah the wacky ones r cool but this game is kinda just that it doesnt have enough realism to recreate crazy battles like that yet but im not sure

As the Shermans didn't die you could have had 1 Sherman vs 1M red coats and the tank wins.

Sadly there are no red coats, however bullets do a lot of damage to the tanks :) You actually don't see dead tanks since when they die they actually just disappear

You'd have to give them at the very least WW1 era artillery for it to have any hope of denting a Sherman, and even then, only the heavy guns would be doing that. Artillery era appropriate to redcoats is about as effective against WW2 era tanks as the muskets. This fight is inherently unbalanced. Really the US army should stay out of musket range and mow them down with their own artillery since the M2A1 outranges musketmen by about 7 miles.

@@Paul-bs5wl well considering the red coats use muskets it was unfair from the start anywayz yeah, i didnt mean adding cannons would actually balance the probability of red coats winning, i just ment if it has everything of ww2 era then it should have everything of the other era aswell including their cannons

Given that armies before the Napoleonic Wars weren’t that large and the US Army in ww2 was one of the largest factions along with the Soviets, if these two armies met each other on the field in real life, they’d probably be equal in size! Except, the British force would cover an entire theatre of war while the American force would be a small task force sent to capture a bridge or an important town!

The range on muskets wasn't very far and their rate of fire was waaaaayyyyy too quick.

Not a single Sherman died. They may take damage but that's no good if they don't cease working or blow up.

As if 18C muzzleloading cannons are going to do anything against a TANK.

the British. were able to fire 5-7 Shots a minute with the Muskets.

@@perkaare7454 During the reign of the highly inaccurate Brown Bess, the average British soldier was expected to fire three rounds a minute. Highly trained and experienced soldiers could fire up to 4 rounds per minute.

Yea, these muskets are freaking overpowered. Thompson's seemed underpowered as well.

@@tucanman9775 The Marines used shotguns in the Pacific. The Model 37 was probably the most common. Not a major contributor, but used nevertheless.

And the M1 was also the normal and most widely used firearm by the Americans in WW2

@@JZuncut "full force" is so funny lmao. France sent huge support to the Americans, and Britain had a large amount of troops defend Britain and were at war with France during the revolutionary war. As well Spain gave large bits of territory to America in support, and large parts of America was owned by France previously before being sold.
