The band was formed in 1990 and initially sing in English. However, writing the texts turns out to be too difficult and quickly one writes more and more often in German. The band name is derived from the first texts. The song Eisblumen became known throughout Germany as a cover: Frost flower - Frost flowers Stylistically they fluctuate between folk rock and folk metal. The instruments are typical for the subgenre. The thing with the crank is a hurdy-gurdy. They call the two-stringed instrument E-Trumscheit / Tromba marina. It's still so cool that this one didn't get blocked, was waiting a week to comment, just to be sure *lol* I really loved that band as a teen, and just rediscovered them while looking for German bands for you :) The punk, gothic description was more about me not the band btw. Their style is more like folk metal/rock I guess. For me they were the first band I would listen to with like heavy metal/rock sound and strings, I love the mix, as you know ;) Additionally, to what you guys said about the lyrics, I am a night person in all ways imaginable, like I get up at noon, work evening/nights, being up all night, and go to sleep early mornings, so my days are nights and the world looks and feels so different at night, I love it. I also always felt it's often easier to be yourself when it's dark, during the day with so much light, people expected you to be a certain way that I never was. Totally love how we connect over the songs, and how similar our taste in music was/is, might be an age thing, but still so cool how it works with a huge literal ocean in between :D Glad you liked the song and the band, so cool that it didn't get blocked, very much excited about that :)

the instrument called "drehleier". you should listen to more of subway to sally. its my favourite band since 25 years.

Subway has so many great songs. But I especialy a fan of their albums from the mid 90s to the early 2000s.

Great Reaction ! Look to the Songs from Saltatio Mortis, then you contact the Band they set you on a white list and youre reaction video are not blocked.

It should be mentioned that it was said by the lyricist that the song does not describe humans who rather live in the night but instead about actual beings of the night

I always took it as an ode to goth,or an ode to the outcast. We melt in the sun, i.e. we cannot shine our true light in real society. We cloak ourselves in sorrow and grief, i.e. we wear black, etc.

Little tip as a German. This song is called eisblumen in English iceflower. Eis is the same sound like English ice :) As i hear the song name i was confused. Its like you write that is-blum but it's like you say ice-blum-en. Greetings

A band with a violinist (Julie Bélanger Roy) and Canadian singer from Quebec (Montreal) is Gone in April.
