So Ten is just straight up amazing. The dance practice for this will blow your mind. Please react to it. The MV is amazing but seeing the whole choreography made me appreciate Ten and his talent even more.

Fun fact: Ten was a dance mentor and judge on the Chinese dance competition show Great Dance Crew for several months in China last year, which is where "Birthday" and a short version of this dance was first performed a little more than 6 months before this MV was released. This dance also was, at least in part, choreographed by him. Ten is often the one that creates or modifies the most memorable and dynamic parts of NCT/WayV's dances that he is a part of. Therefore, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Ten who came up with or modified that tightrope jump move to create what you see in the MV. Most choreographers say they present Ten with choreography and then he changes it and makes it even better. He is a very skilled choreographer as well, which he has shown off in several self-choreographed performances on NCT's KZfaq channels and as a member of SuperM, etc. (SuperM is literally a group of the best dancers, singers, rappers and performers from SM's most popular boy groups. Which I think explains a little of Ten's skill level.) If you check out his 'Birthday' dance practice video and the behind the scenes dance practice video, his behind the scenes of his MV shoot and the behind the scenes of recording the song, you can see just how involved he was with this whole project. Ten actually competed in B-boy competitions when he was younger, so, in his dance practice videos you will see how he incorporated a lot of B-boy moves in this choreography. You can hear him talk about it in his behind the scenes videos and in interviews he has done for this project. And he also has a background in gymnastics. Ten is actually known for being one of the most flexible male idols in the Kpop industry, and there are even compilation videos showing Ten flexing his flexibility and fellow NCT/WayV member WinWin and Ten competing to see who is more flexible, etc. (WinWin has trained in traditional Chinese dance since he was young and is super flexible as well.) I also recommend checking out an interview he did with BoA, who is a senior solo artist also under SM that is known for her dancing, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gp50aJiekqy4g6s.html. This will give you insight into just how respected and talented he really is. All of Ten's solo songs -- "Dream in a Dream," "New Heroes," "Paint Me Naked" and "Birthday" -- are in English because Ten is fluent in English. He grew up attending an international school in Thailand run by British educators, so he spoke English in school. He is native Thai, however, he is fluent in at least 4 languages -- Thai, English, Korean and Mandarin, and he is currently learning Japanese. Because Ten is a member of WayV -- the Chinese sub-unit of NCT that produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China -- this is one of the reasons why his songs are in English. Due to all the political issues between China and Korea, by producing songs in English, among other things, this helps him avoid any conflict with the Chinese government or being seen as a Korean idol, when WayV promotes in China. Right now, Korean companies are not allowed to do business in China and any mainland Chinese citizens are restricted from doing business with or working in Korea, which is why WayV has to maintain a separate presence even though they are part of NCT. Plus, English is one of the languages Ten is most comfortable in and it helps him connect with a wider international audience, etc. Ten first debuted as an original member of NCT-U in 2016 with their "The 7th Sense" MV, as a main dancer and a rapper, but by virtue of the fact that he is an SM Entertainment artist, it shouldn't be a surprise that he is also an outstanding vocalist. LOL. As you are starting to discover, that's just what SM artists are known for. That's why SM is the vocal powerhouse of the industry because everyone under SM has superior singing abilities. Ten is the NCT member with the most solo projects because he is one of SM's and the industry's top dancers and he is an amazing singer and performer, so SM likes to showcase all his impressive skills. Ten is one of the most talented and skilled artists in Kpop. And yet, not enough people pay attention to him. SM Station songs are special songs that are released by SM artists or collaboration songs that are done outside of the members group, etc. Solo performances that aren't associated with a member's group or are just special songs are often Station songs. Hence, why all of Ten's solo releases are Station songs, and not really part of NCT, even though I think some of the MVs still are connected to SM's SM Culture Universe storyline. :D NCT Lab is a special project that was started at the beginning of last year that allows NCT members to release special songs that highlight their individual skills and the members get a chance to put their own ideas and style into the project.

Ten is one of my top 5 Kpop dancers of all time....there are fantastic dancers in kpop, but he will PERFORM like he's dancing just for you...sexy, great eye contact, and his movements are tantalizing.... When this mv dropped, females were ready to drop trou......no sleaze intended...he knows what he's doing...the production and choreography for this highly suggestive and purposeful song was actually to 'perfection'. BUT SERIOUSLY...you NEED to check out the dance practice for "Birthday"...it's smoother than you can imagine...the man is a dancer alright.... Ten is one of my all time biases in Kpop, the man is beautiful....his eyes are mesmerizing. At the moment, out of all Nct members, Ten's beauty has been singled out and exposed to the fashion world over the last year....he's become a spokesman for Yves Saint Laurent, and has been among fashion moguls, top models and celebrities in the streets of Europe at fashion shows. Paparazzi click away as celebrities in high fashion make their way to the venue entrances....sometimes behind the ropes there may be a few kpop fans waiting to see Ten....he may be new to the fashion world but boy, does he look stunning in the YSL outfits he wears to these events. That red carpet walk from car to venue entrance, where celebrities are giving a few poses for cameras, then continue to the entrance...well when Ten arrives, not many people know who he is, but he gets great coverage from the Paparazzi..... Ten, along with a few other kpop idols, get invited all year-long to these shows...just another side project for them Just as Kai and Sehun from EXO showcase fashion for Gucci and Dior...they travel the world to attend shows...and are very popular because of their looks....💙🌺

Ten is an allrounder, he is amazing. He is in my top 3 dancers from SM. First place goes to Taemin just because it's Taemin, second place goes to Ten and on third place we have Kai from Exo and Taeyong from Nct. SM produces quality, vocals, dancers, ... And a lot of allrounders in my opinion.

Since you mentioned air and water, as someone who loves anime a lot, Ten's dancing makes me imagine about so many things but mainly I think he's like the AVATAR of dance. He has the strength and stability of earth🪨. The lightness, speed and freedom of air🌪️🌬️. The beauty, grace and fluidity of water🌊. And the intensity and brilliance of fire🔥 He is such a chameleon. There are other versatile dancers, but Ten's versatility is such that he could not only execute the moves of different genres but he could do them with a very high level of refinement and ease and also understand them like a native speaker understands his own mother tongue. He makes the right expressions and creates the right feel of each choreo. Dance really is a higher form of expression and Ten is just so articulate and eloquent. He really has both breadth and depth as an artist.

Haha! Ten is actually Thai and I think their culture is less conservative than South Korea. Or maybe it’s just Ten. He’s less conservative than South Korea for sure. 😂 A man of many talents. The tattoos are real and he designed them. He could easily be an artist of the drawing and painting kind but obviously he was born for music. The man also probably speaks the most languages in all of NCT. His native tongue is Thai. He attended school in English growing up. He became fluent in Korean when he moved there to pursue music. And then SM cast him in their Chinese subunit (his mom is of Chinese descent I believe) and WayV has members with Mandarin as their native tongue and some with Cantonese. So he’s at least conversational in Mandarin too. They’ve also recorded in Japanese. He’s just a genius. No other word for it. I recommend NCT U Baby don’t Stop. A dancing duet between Ten and Taeyong. One of NCT’s best songs.

Stations/NCT Lab's are basically just the category for solo or unit projects for the NCT members for songs that they themselves are heavily involved in. It's mostly solos (Ten "Birthday" + "Paint Me Naked", Taeyong "Love Theory" + "Long Flight", Mark "Golden Hour" + "Child", Jaehyun "Forever Only" + "Horizon"), but there are some unit songs too (NCT U "Rain Day" - written and produced by Kun - + "Marine Turtle" - composed by Chenle) Yes Ten's tattoos are all real! He's also an artist and has designed some of if not all of them himself, particularly the one on his chest and the large one on his forearm. Taeyong, Johnny and Yuta from 127 also all have super cool and beautiful tattoos. Ten is an insane dancer and you NEED to see the dance practice for "Birthday"! Ten is up there as one of THE best dancers in the whole industry and in my opinion, he's the best in NCT, along with Taeyong. Ten has so many dance covers and videos that you should check out. Would love if you did all the NCT soloists next though haha Taeyong, Jaehyun, and Mark are the other members with solo songs. Taeyong is the only one whose had an official solo debut which happened this year. The rest are all Stations/NCT labs. Ohhhh, my sweet summer child... you have no idea. 😄 As much as I like the mv, I *LOVE* the dance practice! I already knew Ten is the best dancer in kpop, but I was truly floored by his performance in the "practice" for Birthday. (It's shot more like a performance video, so don't let the title fool you.) Ten's versatility in style, his ability to exude both masculine and feminine energy, his expression, technique, power, extension, lines and especially his gymnast level flexibility, all together, make him the most well-rounded idol dancer I've come across. So trust me when I say... you will absolutely regret not watching the dance practice more than you regretted taking so long to watch the mv... so don't wait! 😂 Not only is his performance incredible, but the ladies friggin KILL IT too... AND the choreography piece *100%* deserves to be seen in its entirety.

Ten IS very fluid. Ten and Taeyong released a very popular song as NCT U that they often perform on concerts - "Baby Don't Stop". They showcase their respective dance styles there well. The two members are considered the top dancers in NCT (+Mark). As YT will hardly ever recommend the hidden gem, I advice you to watch Taeyong's "Ghost", self-written song and dance.
